What this mod does
Car Radar is a proximity radar for Assetto Corsa by itsjustdel. Unlike other radars that show simple rectangles, this one draws each car’s outline with its size and rotation relative to yours, which really helps you judge gaps in a wheel-to-wheel battle. It has over 80,000 downloads on OverTake.gg.
Features
- Minimap with the cars’ real shapes and relative rotation.
- Configurable size, color, angle and range, with optional smooth fade in and out.
- Proximity mode that colors cars by how close they are.
- Blind spot alerts and blue flag highlighting for cars you need to let by.
- Low-detail mode, customizable background and, since 1.6, an option to trim the rear range.
Performance and known issues
The author warns that the app costs some performance and recommends raising your FPS limit, because it’s drawn after the limit is applied. The 2015 Ford Mustang has a skewed outline and some cars show extra lines. A VR fix is available separately.
Tips
If the app doesn’t load, delete the config.txt file in Documents/Assetto Corsa/apps/CarRadar. Since December 2022 it includes metadata for Content Manager, although replies on the mod page recommend installing it manually.

Requirements
- Assetto Corsa for PC
- Python apps enabled in the game or in Content Manager
- Free OverTake.gg account to download
How to install it
- Go to the Car Radar page on OverTake.gg and log in.
- Download the .zip (about 125 KB).
- Merge the assettocorsa folder from the .zip with your main Assetto Corsa install folder.
- Enable Car Radar in the apps settings in the game or in Content Manager.
- On track, open the app from the sidebar and adjust it to your liking.
- If you play in VR, also download the VR fix linked on the mod page.

Common problems
The app doesn't show up
Delete config.txt in Documents/Assetto Corsa/apps/CarRadar and reload the session.
My FPS drops

Does it show cars behind me?
Yes; since 1.6 you can set how far behind they're shown.
