What this mod does

Cummins Signature 600 Straight pipe sound is a sound mod by SlavJerry for American Truck Simulator. It recreates the Cummins Signature 600 with a straight pipe, on SCS trucks and modded trucks. It has almost 44,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop.

What’s included

• Three-stage engine brake.
• Gearbox whine.
• Turbo and fan with realistic behavior.
• Capped maximum volume to avoid clipping.
• Distance attenuation and distortion based on your position around the truck.

The sounds were recorded, mixed and mastered by SlavJerry; one of the samples is by SCS Software.

Author’s tips

Turn the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes all the way up in the sound settings. To use the engine brake, bind a key to the engine brake toggle in the controls.

Version

The page doesn’t state a game version. When a user asked whether it needed updating for 1.50, the author said no. It’s a small file, about 1.7 MB, and it was published on July 9, 2023. SlavJerry has many more engine sounds on the Workshop, like the CAT 3408 or the Mack MP8.

Requirements

How to install it

1. Open the “Cummins Signature 600 Striaght pipe sound” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
4. Check your truck's engines at the service shop: the page doesn't explain how the sound is assigned.
5. Turn the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes all the way up, and bind a key to the engine brake.
