What this mod does
Cummins X15 Stock sound is a sound mod by SlavJerry for American Truck Simulator. It recreates the stock sound of the Cummins X15 engine, with a diesel particulate filter (DPF), in the 400 to 605 hp ratings. It has over 20,000 subscribers.
What’s included
- Stock X15 sound with DPF.
- Two-stage Cummins Interbrake engine brake.
- Realistic variable geometry turbo (VGT) behavior.
- The sound fades with distance and changes depending on where you are around the truck.
Credits
According to the page, SCS Software provided the engine samples and specs. SlavJerry added some samples and did the mixing and mastering.
Version
The description doesn’t list a game version. The author’s official video presents version 2.0 «for ATS 1.56». The file was last updated on September 26, 2025.
Compatibility
The tags list it for Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star and other brands. In January 2026 the author confirmed it works with Jon Ruda’s 379 and 389. Some players say the X15 no longer shows up on the second version of the anniversary T680 and doesn’t appear on SCS’s International 9900i. It’s about 2 MB.

How to install it
- Open the "Cummins X15 Stock sound" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Go to a service shop and fit the Cummins X15 engine on a compatible truck.
