What this mod does
Interior Soundproofing is a pair of mods by Knights Gaming that improves cab soundproofing: the engine and outside noise sound more muffled inside, like in a modern truck. They’re also required by his Volvo D13 and Mack E7 engine sounds.
Version for SCS vehicles
- 15 trucks: Freightliner Cascadia 2019 and 2024; International 9900i, LoneStar and LT; Kenworth T680 2022 and W900; Mack Anthem and Pinnacle; Peterbilt 389; Volvo VNL 2018 and 2025; Western Star 49X, 57X and 5700XE.
- 4 Ford cars: Mustang 67, Crown Victoria 06, Bronco 24 and F-150 23 (support added in 2.0).
- More faithful sound of the automatic transmission at work.
Version for modded trucks
Interior Soundproofing for Modded Trucks (a separate Workshop item) covers the Mack R Series, the Kenworth K100E, Smarty’s Peterbilt 351 and 358, the Outlaw Peterbilt 359 V2 and the Freightliner FLB edited by Harven.
Compatibility
The author says it works best with Slav Jerry’s sounds. Both are marked as optional for Convoy multiplayer. One user comments that with it, the T680’s 510 hp Paccar sounds too high-pitched.
Version
Version 2.0 of the SCS pack is from October 19, 2026 and a user confirms it works on ATS 1.61; the modded trucks version was updated on August 21.

How to install it
- Open the “Interior Soundproofing for SCS Trucks and Cars” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- If you use compatible modded trucks, also subscribe to “Interior Soundproofing for Modded Trucks” (Steam Workshop 3784663615).
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to download the mods.
- In the Mod Manager, enable the pack or packs you need.
- Get in the cab and compare the sound with the mod enabled and disabled.

Yes, with the separate “for Modded Trucks” version, which covers six specific trucks.
