What this mod does
Cummins X15 Straight Pipe Sound is Slav Jerry‘s mod for anyone who wants the most modern Cummins in ATS with a much more aggressive sound: an X15 without a variable geometry turbo (VGT) and with a straight-pipe exhaust, no muffler.
What’s included
- Cummins X15 engines from 400 to 605 hp with a modified manifold and turbo.
- Two-stage Cummins Interbrake engine brake.
- Distance attenuation, distortion and directional sound based on where you are relative to the truck.
- CAST system for adding unsupported modded trucks.
It works alongside the same author’s stock X15. If you’re after an unmodified Cummins, there’s the Cummins ISX Stock Sound; if you prefer Caterpillar, the CAT C15 6NZ.
Heads-up when updating to 2.0
Version 2.0 (May 2, 2026) rebuilds the whole mod, debuts a more complex turbo sound system and changes the file names: the previous engine disappears from the truck and you have to fit it again at the service shop. If you use a megapack that includes an old version, the author asks you to disable it until it’s updated.

Requirements
- American Truck Simulator 1.58 or 1.59 (according to the author; 1.61 isn't confirmed)
- An SCS or modded truck that supports the Cummins X15, or add one with CAST
How to install it
- Download version 2.0 from TruckyMods (also linked in the author's thread on the SCS forum).
- Copy the file to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager above modded trucks and other sound mods.
- Disable any sound megapack that includes an old version of this mod.
- At a service shop, fit the X15 engine again (2.0 changes the file names).

Why did the engine disappear after updating?
Version 2.0 changes the definition file names; pick the engine again at the service shop.
Can I use it alongside the stock X15?
Yes, the author designed it to coexist with his stock X15 sound.
Does it work in ATS 1.61?
The author tags it up to 1.58 on TruckyMods and up to 1.59 in his video; 1.61 isn't confirmed.
