What this mod does
Detroit Diesel DD Series Stock Sound replaces the sound of the Detroit engines in Daimler’s trucks in ATS with a stock sound: that of a fleet truck with its exhaust and particulate filter. It’s not going for the roar of a straight pipe, but for the sound you’d hear on an American highway.
What it changes
- Detroit DD13, DD15 and DD16 from 370 to 600 hp, with separate sounds for the DD13 and for the DD15/DD16.
- Distance attenuation and directional effects around the truck.
- Interior insulation: with the windows up, the engine sounds more muffled inside the cab.
Compatible trucks
It works with SCS’s Freightliner Cascadia, including the Cascadia 2024 since version 4.0, and with the Western Star 49X, 57X and 5700XE.
Where the sound comes from
The credits make it clear: sound samples and engine data from SCS Software, reworked by the author. It contains no audio from other games.
Version
Version 4.0 (February 21, 2026) reworks the whole sound and is tagged for ATS 1.58. The author recommends turning the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes all the way up in the audio options.

Common problems
Does it work with the Cascadia 2024?
Yes. Version 4.0 added compatibility with SCS's Cascadia 2024.
Does the DD13 sound the same as the DD15?
No. The author gives the DD13 its own sound and a shared one to the DD15 and DD16.
Does it work in ATS 1.61?
The author tags it up to 1.58. It may work, but the game will flag it as an outdated mod.
