No: as of 2026, American Truck Simulator still has no Android or iPhone version, and SCS Software hasn’t announced one (checked on October 22, 2026). Any «ATS APK» or «ATS mobile 2026» is either a different game with a new name or a dangerous download. The only legal ways to play it on your phone are cloud gaming (GeForce NOW) or Steam Link from your PC, always with the game bought on Steam. The only new, official thing is that it’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, still without a date.
Why there’s no official ATS APK
The game’s official page on the SCS website lists its platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux and SteamOS. The American Truck Simulator website only links to Steam to buy it, and to the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store to wishlist the upcoming console version. No mobile version has been announced.
That makes sense: ATS is a big game, with a map covering several US states, and it needs at least 8 GB of RAM and 25 GB of space for the base game alone (we break it down in the American Truck Simulator requirements). SCS hasn’t even finished the console port yet, and consoles are far more powerful than a phone.
What’s behind the «American Truck Simulator APKs»
If you search for «american truck simulator apk», «for Android» or «download for Android», you’ll find pages and videos promising the game for free. What they usually offer is one of these:
- A different game with a new name: a truck simulator from another studio, sometimes taken straight from the Play Store, with the ATS logo slapped on it.
- An «APK mod» with unlimited money: a modified copy of some random mobile game. It’s not ATS, and since the app has been tampered with, there’s no way to know what code was added.
- Installers and «human verification»: they ask you to fill out surveys, install other apps or hand over your personal data to «unlock» the download. The game never shows up.
- Malware: apps that show intrusive ads, steal passwords or download more malicious software.
This isn’t a theoretical risk. Kaspersky detected more than 19 million attack attempts disguised as popular video games between mid-2024 and early 2025, most of them programs that, once installed, quietly download more malware. It also found info-stealers going after Steam and Discord accounts. Their advice is the same as ours: download games and mods only from official sources.
If you’ve already installed one of these APKs, uninstall it, run a scan with Google Play Protect (it comes with the Play Store) and change the passwords for the accounts you use on that phone, starting with Google and Steam.
How to play ATS on your phone legally
Both options need the same thing: American Truck Simulator purchased on your Steam account. We explain how and how much it costs in download the official American Truck Simulator.
Option 1: cloud gaming with GeForce NOW
American Truck Simulator is in the catalog of GeForce NOW, NVIDIA’s service, which is officially available in Mexico. The game runs on their servers and you see the picture on your phone. According to NVIDIA, Android 7.0 or later works, and on iPhone or iPad you use it through the Safari browser with iOS 15.4 or later. There are free plans with session limits and paid plans; check the current terms on their website. Driving a truck on a touchscreen is much more comfortable with a Bluetooth controller. Keep in mind that you can’t install manual mods in the cloud; in practice, only Steam Workshop mods work.
Option 2: Steam Link from your PC
Steam Link is Valve’s free official app, available on the Play Store and also on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. If you have a PC where you already play ATS, the app streams your game to your phone or tablet, on your home network or remotely. Here you get everything from your PC: DLC, mods and the Mexico map Reforma, if you use it. You need a good Wi-Fi connection and, again, a controller.
Mobile truck games that actually are official
If what you want is a native truck simulator for your phone, there are games from other studios published on the official stores. None of them is ATS or has its map, but they’re legal and install from the Play Store or App Store:

Search for them by their exact name in your phone’s store and check that the developer matches, because there are also copies with similar names. Be wary of any «mod» or «unlocked premium» version downloaded outside the store.
What about the future?
SCS hasn’t announced anything for phones. Next up is the console version, which still has no date; we’re tracking it in American Truck Simulator on Xbox and PS5. If there’s ever an Android version, SCS would announce it on its official blog and it would be on the Play Store, not on a download site.
