What this mod does
Late Autumn/Mild Winter is the Grimes season for anyone who wants a late autumn or a snowless winter in American Truck Simulator. If you’re after snow, its sibling is Frosty Winter; if you play ETS2, its counterpart is Late Autumn/Mild Winter for ETS2. Version 5.4 works on ATS 1.61.
What it changes
- Late autumn or mild winter weather and scenery, with leafless vegetation.
- Shorter days, seasonal temperatures and more realistic lighting.
- Denser grass that stays visible farther away, with smoother detail transitions.
- Improved rain on the road and windshield, and improved asphalt textures.
What’s new in 5.4
Besides the 1.61 update, 5.4 improves fair weather, reworks bad weather, dresses pedestrians in winter clothing, adds reflections on wet sidewalks and asphalt, and makes roads take longer to dry. It also includes an optional realistic reflections add-on.
Compatibility
It works with all map DLCs. Disable other weather, graphics or HDR mods, such as Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather, and place it at the top of the Mod Manager. If the skies look pixelated, the author points to a conflict with another mod. For older game versions there’s 5.3 (1.60), 5.2 (1.59) and 5.1 (1.58).

Requirements
- American Truck Simulator 1.61 (older versions for 1.58, 1.59 and 1.60 are on the same page)
- About 814 MB of free space
- No other weather, graphics or HDR mod active, and no other Grimes season
How to install it
- Open the Late Autumn/Mild Winter page on Grimes' website.
- Choose the free download (ShareMods) or the ad-free $1 download.
- Copy late_autumn_mild_winter_ats_v5_4.scs to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, place it at the very top and disable any other weather, graphics or HDR mods.
- In Graphics, set vegetation detail and grass density to High and enable normal maps; if they were off, restart the game.

Common problems
Can I run several Grimes seasons at once?
No. Each one replaces the weather and graphics; enable only one, even if you use the Seasons Pack.
Does it work with the map DLCs?
Yes. The author says it's compatible with all map DLCs.
What is the Seasons Pack?
A separate paid pack ($2.99) with Spring, Summer, Early Fall, Late Fall and Winter for ATS 1.61.
Does it have snow?
No. It's a mild winter with leafless trees. For snow, the same author makes Frosty Winter.
