What this mod does
Real Mirror FOV is a mod by worew_an, who wasn’t happy with the mirrors in other mods and decided to make his own. It adjusts the field of view (FOV) of the mirrors with values taken from photos and videos of real trucks.
What to expect
- The main mirrors are flat with a narrow field, just like in real life.
- The spherical mirrors have a very wide field.
- The author admits he’s not entirely sure about the right convex mirror due to a lack of references.
He presents it as a «hardcore» option: he knows some players won’t like it.
Compatibility
- Don’t use it with g_phys_mirrors (physical mirrors), which the author hasn’t configured.
- According to the author, it’s fully compatible with Ford’s Road Trip DLC.
- It conflicts with Improved Vegetation LOD, because both modify the same file.
Version
The description doesn’t list a game version. In mid-September, after 1.61 came out, the author said it should work without having confirmed it; on September 30 he updated it with Road Trip support.
One user notes that the physical mirrors don’t rotate when adjusted from the mini menu, which they put down to the game itself.

How to install it
- Open the "Real Mirror FOV" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Go to your profile's Mod Manager and enable "Real Mirror FOV".
- Disable other mirror mods and Improved Vegetation LOD, which use the same file.
- Make sure g_phys_mirrors is disabled in your config.

Common problems
Why do the main mirrors look so narrow?
Because in real life they're flat with a narrow field; the mod reproduces that on purpose.
