What this mod does
Particles Addon is the third rain mod by Denis, the author of Yet Another Rain Mod. Instead of the windshield drops, it improves the water kicked up by the wheels of your truck and of traffic when the pavement is wet.
What changes
- Particle textures redone by hand and at a higher resolution.
- Particles per wheel go from 4-8 in the base game to about 200.
- Three spray levels depending on the amount of water on the road.
- Estimated cost of 2 to 4 FPS on modest CPUs, according to the author.
Compatibility and load order
It doesn’t need YARM: it works on its own, and the author lists it as compatible with all mods. If you use the whole series, the order is Particles Addon at the top, then Pure Rain Addon (optional), YARM (optional), other rain mods and, at the bottom, graphics, weather and lighting. It’s tested from 1.58 to 1.61.
Known issues
One user says that sometimes some traffic vehicles show up without spray. The author couldn’t reproduce it and points out two things: the effect isn’t visible at night, and with heavy traffic it’s a good idea to lower the density with g_traffic 0.5 or 0.7 on less powerful PCs. It only replaces two textures and three config files, so conflicts are unlikely.

How to install it
- Open the "YARM: Particles Addon" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Go to your profile's Mod Manager and enable "YARM: Particles Addon".
- If you use other mods by Denis, keep Particles Addon at the top, then Pure Rain Addon and then Yet Another Rain Mod.
- Place your graphics, weather and lighting mods below them.

Common problems
Do I need Yet Another Rain Mod?
No. It works on its own; YARM and Pure Rain are optional.
