What this mod does
Pure Rain Addon is an add-on for Yet Another Rain Mod made by the same author, Denis. While the base mod is built around heavy storms, this one goes the other way: fine, clean rain, inspired by videos of drivers on the road in light rain in Belgium and Germany.
What it adds
- Higher-quality, sharper raindrop textures.
- Natural drop behavior at both low and high speeds.
- Keeps YARM’s improvements: rain streaks and fixed boundaries on side windows and windshields.
Requirements and load order
It needs YARM to work. The order the author asks for is: Pure Rain Addon at the top, YARM below it, then any other rain mods, and graphics, weather and lighting mods at the bottom. It works on 1.58 through 1.61; 1.57 and earlier are not supported.
Known issues
Just like the base mod, on 1.61 some drops may animate at a lower FPS than the rest of the game. The author blames a game bug related to V-Sync: turn it off or set antialiasing to SMAA only. After updating, check in the Mod Manager that YARM is also on its latest version.
Denis points out that the game doesn’t allow drops on the truck’s exterior bodywork, so the effect is visible from the cab.

How to install it
- First subscribe to "Yet Another Rain Mod" on Steam Workshop.
- Open the "YARM: Pure Rain Addon" page and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to download both mods.
- In the Mod Manager, enable both and keep Pure Rain Addon above YARM.
- Place other rain mods below them, with graphics, weather and lighting mods at the bottom.

Common problems
Does it work without YARM?
No. The author says the add-on requires Yet Another Rain Mod.
How is it different from YARM?
YARM is inspired by heavy storms; Pure Rain aims for light, fine and cleaner rain.
Will there be drops on the outside of the truck?
