What this mod does
Yet Another Rain Mod (YARM) is Denis‘s rain mod for American Truck Simulator. It doesn’t touch the weather system or the sounds: it focuses on how drops look on the windshield and windows, and on the rain streaks falling in front of the cab.
What it changes
- Smaller, denser, higher-resolution drops.
- More frequent but less intrusive rain streaks.
- Dynamic drops that take about 15 in-game minutes to dry once the rain stops.
- Hand-redrawn window masks for 89 trucks and cars, new masks for 27 more vehicles and over 55 reworked glass configurations.
Version and load order
It works on 1.58 through 1.61; on 1.57 or earlier it may break. The author says it’s compatible with other mods and asks you to place it above other rain mods, which in turn should sit above graphics, weather and lighting mods.
Known issues
On 1.61 some players see FPS drops or stuttering drops. Denis’s fix is to turn off vertical sync (V-Sync) and, if that’s not enough, disable TAA or set antialiasing to SMAA only.
It has two optional add-ons from the same author: Pure Rain Addon and Particles Addon, which improves wheel spray.

How to install it
- Open the "Yet Another Rain Mod" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Go to your profile's Mod Manager and enable "Yet Another Rain Mod".
- Place it above other rain mods and above graphics, weather and lighting mods.
- If the drops stutter on 1.61, turn off vertical sync or set antialiasing to SMAA.

Common problems
Does it change the weather or rain sounds?
No. It only modifies three textures, the glass configurations and the window masks.
Does it work on 1.61?
Yes, the author lists compatibility from 1.58 to 1.61.
Why do the drops stutter?
It's a bug that showed up with 1.61; the author recommends turning off V-Sync or using SMAA only.
Do I need an add-on?
No. Pure Rain Addon and Particles Addon are optional.
