What this mod does
Blackpool FB72 is an open-wheel race car set in the early 1970s, created by TrackpadUser, author of other popular racing mods. It’s very light, very powerful and has no driving aids, so it demands precise driving. With a rating of 4.94 out of 5, it has been very well received.
What’s included
- Two V8 engines: one inspired by the Formula 1 engines of the era and a 5000 cc OHV based on Formula 5000 cars.
- Removable parts, such as the nose, the bodywork and the engine air intake.
- The author’s own model, JBeam and textures, except for the game’s original parts.
- Racing steering wheels and gauges taken from the Racetec Universal Racing Parts mod.
Compatibility
You need Racetec Universal Racing Parts installed for the race versions to show the steering wheel and gauges. It was released on September 14, 2026, with 0.39 already out. The mod page doesn’t mention Career mode or multiplayer.
Tips
Several players say the base setups are hard to handle; one recommends adjusting the rear suspension for more stability. You can also drive it with a controller, although it’s harder. Some miss a dedicated engine sound. If you like classic circuits, it’s one of the most polished open-wheelers on the Repository.
