What this mod does
Spencer Engines for MD Series and D Series, by VinDisel, adds two diesel engines from Spencer Engines, a fictional British manufacturer the author based on a real one. They’re modest on power but have lots of low-end torque, ideal for work and for relaxed driving.
What’s included
- Spencer 203 CUI (3.3 liters): an economical naturally aspirated four-cylinder diesel for the Gavril D-Series pickup.
- Spencer 354 CUI (5.8 liters): a six-cylinder diesel, naturally aspirated or turbo, for the Gavril MD-Series truck.
- A custom sound for the 354 CUI, reworked in a later update.
- Since 1.2, a turbo for the MD-Series engine and two new configs.
A nod to Argentina
The mod’s backstory places these engines in 1980s and 1990s Argentina: to cut costs, Gavril supposedly fitted the MD70 there with the Spencer six instead of the big 10.4-liter turbodiesel, and the D-Series with the four. It’s a nice touch if you like trucks and pickups from that era in Latin America.

It’s marked as Experimental, although it has five reviews, all five stars. Some users ask for a better sound and complain that the yellow text in the description is hard to read.

Requirements

- About 6 MB of free space for the .zip file
How to install it
- Open the Spencer Engines page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder (AppData > Local > BeamNG > BeamNG.drive > current > mods).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- Spawn a Gavril D-Series or MD-Series and choose the Spencer engine in the engine slot, or load one of the new configs.
