The Insano for BeamNG.drive

What this mod does

The Insano is a project by fillman86 whose goal is to build the fastest car possible, measured by lap time rather than top speed. According to the author, it laps the Automation test track in 1:11. It’s marked as experimental, and this is the first of four planned phases.

What’s included

• A turbine engine that only generates electricity, with an optional, unrealistic afterburner you activate with the P key.
• Four in-wheel electric motors that quickly drain the supercapacitors; if you accelerate too much, power is limited.
• Rear suction fans you activate with the Y key.
• Fins attached to the hubs that generate downforce on the tires.
• A canopy with a virtual HUD that, for now, shows little information.
• A tuning menu with decoupled-mode suspension and debug data.

Compatibility

Version 0.3.5 is from September 16, 2026. The author says it’s mostly stable but can break apart at high speed, and that it’s too fast for normal use in BeamMP. Distant objects flicker on some maps.

Tips

The mod page includes several videos explaining how it works, including one about the suspension. One user notes that in reverse it accelerates with the brake pedal.

Requirements

• BeamNG.drive 0.39 or later
• About 16 MB of free space for the .zip file

How to install it

1. Open The Insano page on the official BeamNG Repository.
2. Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
3. If you download it manually, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder.
4. Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
5. Open the vehicle selector, look for The Insano and use P for the afterburner and Y for the suction fans.
