What this mod does
ETS2 Aggressive Realistic Traffic Behavior is a mod by darkestdragon24, the author of Realistic Police System, that changes how AI drivers behave. He made it at players’ request after his realistic American traffic mod, and it’s mainly meant to make driving more entertaining.
What it changes
- Traffic is much less patient and overtakes more often.
- Vehicles can drive up to 20 km/h over the speed limit.
- The AI pays less attention to its own safety, so accidents happen now and then, though not often.
- In theory, drivers slow down for speed cameras and police, but they don’t always do it.
The author himself warns that in cities it can feel more aggressive than real-life Europe.
Installation and compatibility
It’s listed for 1.61 and 1.60. Place it above other traffic mods in the Mod Manager. If you don’t notice the change, the author recommends resetting traffic from the in-game console. Pair it with a density mod if you want busier highways.
Version
Released on September 17, 2026. There’s a separate version for American Truck Simulator.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 updated to version 1.61 (1.60 also works)
- No DLC or other mods needed
How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
- Enable "ETS2 Aggressive Realistic Traffic Behavior" and place it above other traffic mods.
- Load your save; if you don't notice any change, reset traffic from the console, as the author suggests.
Common problems
Do cars respect speed cameras?
In theory they slow down for speed cameras and police, but the author warns they don't always do it.
Will there be accidents?
Now and then, though not often.
Do the highways look empty?
Pair it with a traffic density mod placed below it.
