What this mod does
OpenRoad: More Traffic is a mod by ALEXaloysha for Euro Truck Simulator 2 that raises the maximum number of AI vehicles. In the game’s original file that limit appears commented at 50; the mod raises it to 300, so cities and highways can hold many more cars and trucks at once.
How to adjust the density
The mod only raises the cap. The amount of traffic is set by the g_traffic variable, which defaults to 1.0 and accepts values from 0 to 10. You can change it in two ways:
- With the game closed, in the file Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/config.cfg.
- From the developer console, typing for example g_traffic 3.
The author recommends starting at 3; at 4 or 5, traffic already gets very dense in big cities.
Version and compatibility
It’s built from the version 1.61 files and was released on October 3, 2026. It’s single-player only: it doesn’t work on TruckersMP or Convoy.
Load order
It’s part of the OpenRoad series. If you use other mods from the series, the author’s top-to-bottom order is: Hyper Power, Super Power, Big Money, Free Services, No Sleep & No Fuel, No Fines, No Rollover, No Damage and, last, More Traffic.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 updated to version 1.61
- No DLC or other mods needed
- Access to config.cfg or the developer console to adjust g_traffic
How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable “OpenRoad: More Traffic”.
- Close the game and, in Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/config.cfg, change g_traffic (the author recommends starting at 3).
- You can also type g_traffic 3 in the developer console while playing.
