What this mod does
Real Good Headlights for SCS Trucks is a mod by Maurice Randall (maurice on Steam) that changes the headlights on ETS2’s stock trucks. It aims for realistic night driving with better visibility, especially at poorly lit junctions and on-ramps.
What it does
- Reworks the headlight beam so it lights up the road better at night.
- Spills some light out to both sides, close to the front of the truck.
- Works with halogen, LED and xenon headlights.
- Also works in Quick Jobs.
- On the DAF XF 105, the author has adjusted the color temperature to make up for the extra tint on the windshield and doors.
Other versions
This version is for SCS trucks. The author has another one for trucks made by other modders and two more for ATS. If you use next-gen Scania S and R trucks from other authors, the modded-trucks version also needs this one.
Version
On September 19, 2026, he updated it to fix the red headlights caused by 1.61. The author himself admits that SCS’s changes in that version make it hard to get the lights looking the same as before. It’s about 88 KB and doesn’t need any DLC.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe.”
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading it.
- Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
- Enable “Real Good Headlights for SCS Trucks” and load your save.
- Drive at night with your lights on to see the difference.
