What this mod does
RoadPulse, by SkaterBoy, is a traffic mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2 with over 44,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop.
What it does
- Rush hours: density changes with the in-game time. There’s a morning rush from 07:00 to 09:00, daytime traffic from 10:00 to 14:00 with a minimum of over 70 active cars, an evening rush from 15:00 to 17:00 and quiet nights from 00:00 to 05:00.
- Borders and tolls: more vehicles appear to form queues, also following Schengen rules. The author gives the Bulgaria–Greece border as an example.
- Density by country: custom values for 36 countries, from Germany (1.4) and the United Kingdom (1.3) to Iceland (0.4) and Norway (0.5).
- Tourism: more caravans, motorhomes and boat trailers in Italy, France, Spain and Greece.
- Drivers: more assertive; they overtake sooner, honk if they’re blocked and tailgate more.
- The AI vehicle limit goes up from 50 to 150.
Installation and version
Place it high in the Mod Manager so its rules override the default settings and mod maps. The author says it’s compatible with the latest version of ETS2, without giving a number. If you’re coming from another traffic mod and your save warns about a missing mod, load it anyway and save again.

- The author doesn't give a game version number (just “the latest version”). It may cause errors on 1.61; Holyfix will warn you if so.

How to install it
- Open the “RoadPulse” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Move it high in the list so it overrides the default settings and mod maps.
- Disable other traffic density mods.
Common problems
My save says a mod is missing
If you're coming from another traffic mod, the author recommends loading the save anyway and saving again.
Where does it go in the load order?
High in the list, according to the author.
Does it affect performance?
It raises the AI vehicle limit from 50 to 150, so it may be heavier on modest PCs.
