What this mod does
TruckNav turns a phone, a tablet or a second monitor into a truck GPS for ETS2 and ATS. It reads live telemetry, so you can turn off the HUD and drive while looking at another screen. It’s free and open source (GPL-3.0 license), and the author publishes it on GitHub. Version 0.5.1 came out on October 7, 2026.
What it offers
- Live position and an estimated time of arrival calculated in real time.
- Multi-stop routes thanks to the «Add Stop» button.
- Map package manager: ETS2 and ATS 1.61 base maps, ProMods 2.84 and ProMods Canada 1.64.
- Desktop app with Discord Rich Presence, an Android app and a browser version.
- Interface in English, German, Romanian, Korean, Czech, Slovak and Dutch (not yet in Spanish).
How it works
It’s an external program: it doesn’t change the game files. The Windows desktop app installs the telemetry plugin (based on RenCloud’s scs-sdk-plugin) in the game folder, asks for administrator permission the first time so it can use the local network, and shows an IP address that you enter on your phone or in the browser.
Limitations
It’s an early version: it can get confused in large company yards, sometimes suggests illegal U-turns, and on older tablets the map runs slowly. With company mods, it only guarantees MLH82’s Real companies & gas stations.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator 1.61
- A Windows PC for the desktop app (.exe installer)
- An Android phone (APK), a tablet or any browser on the same local network
- Administrator permission the first time
How to install it
- Go to the releases page of the TruckNav-Sim repository on GitHub and download 0.5.1.
- Install the desktop app on the PC you play on and follow its instructions to install the telemetry plugin.
- Accept the administrator prompt so it can communicate over the local network.
- Install the APK on your phone or open the browser on another device.
- Enter the IP address shown on the PC and download the map packages you use (base or ProMods) from the app.
- Start the game and turn off the HUD if you want to drive using only TruckNav.

Common problems
Does it modify the game?
It doesn't touch the game files; it only adds the telemetry plugin, which uses SCS's official plugin system.
Does it work with ProMods?
Yes, since 0.5.0, with downloadable map packages: ProMods 2.84 and ProMods Canada 1.64.
Does it work on Linux or Steam Deck?
Not officially; the README points to a community fork.
Does it cost anything?
