What this mod does
Reverse Posture Assistant is a tool by 幽笙y (yyysheng on GitHub) that helps you maneuver in reverse in Euro Truck Simulator 2. When you shift into reverse, it draws lines right on the scenery showing where the tractor unit and trailer are going to go.
What it shows
- Two blue lines with the tractor unit’s edges and two orange ones with the trailer’s.
- A 5-meter predicted path that responds to the steering wheel and the hitch angle.
- It accounts for wheel contact with the ground, lift axles and steering axles.
- It only appears in reverse and hides when you pause.
Installation
Subscribing on the Workshop isn’t enough: the mod needs a DLL that’s installed separately. Download the matching version of the “Runtime for Workshop” from the author’s GitHub, run Install-Runtime-Only.bat with the game closed and enable the mod in the Mod Manager. The Workshop mod and the runtime must be updated together.
Version and compatibility
Version 0.11.2, from October 15, 2026, adds the exact profile for ETS2 1.61.1.9 and keeps the ones for 1.61.1.0, 1.61.1.1 and 1.60.x. On unrecognized builds it runs in telemetry-only mode. It requires 64-bit Windows; 1.59 and earlier aren’t supported. The author also publishes it for ATS.

How to install it
- Close ETS2.
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop, click “Subscribe” and wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Download the “Runtime for Workshop” v0.11.2 from the author's GitHub and unzip it.
- Run Install-Runtime-Only.bat.
- Launch ETS2, enable the mod in the Mod Manager and disable any old local copies.
- Restart the game and shift into reverse to see the guide lines.

Common problems
Is subscribing on the Workshop enough?
No: you also have to install the runtime (a DLL) from the author's GitHub.
