What this mod does
Ultimate Graphics Mod is the ETS2 version of TGModz’s graphics pack, which we’ve already covered in its American Truck Simulator edition. It’s a weather and graphics mod focused mainly on rain, and it takes up a whopping 34 GB.
What it changes
- Rain with new textures, particles and sounds, plus several intensity levels.
- New skies, fog and lightning with variable intensity, and thunder sounds.
- Water effects, road reflections and wheel spray.
- A change to the length of day and night and a camera zoom option.
Installation and tires
The mod’s wet asphalt makes trucks slide more, so the author recommends Goodyear UltraGrip 315/80 tires and explains in the description which tire mods should go above which. Set aside plenty of disk space: the download is huge and Steam will take a while.
Version and issues
The description states compatibility with 1.61, and the author updates it almost daily: it has more than 370 change notes. He acknowledges a pink sky bug whose cause he still doesn’t know, and he only answers questions on his Discord server. According to him, it runs on modest PCs that meet the game’s official minimum requirements.
With almost 179,000 subscribers in one year, it’s one of the most popular graphics mods on the Workshop.
Ultimate Graphics Mod on ETS2 1.61 and the 1.62 beta
Updated October 23, 2026: TGModz states on Steam Workshop that Ultimate Graphics Mod is compatible with version 1.61.x of Euro Truck Simulator 2, the stable release since September 17, 2026. The last update is from October 15, 2026, the changelog has 376 change notes, and it has passed 180,000 subscribers. The download is 34.08 GB. For 1.62, in open beta since October 22, 2026, the author hasn’t confirmed compatibility yet, so if you want to use it without surprises, stay on 1.61.
According to its description, the mod works on Convoy, SCS’s official multiplayer. Since the rain and the asphalt reflections make the truck slide more, the author recommends fitting Goodyear UltraGrip 315/80 tires and his No More Slippery Tires mod, which is optional and must go above Real Tires Mod in the Mod Manager. If you combine several graphics and weather mods, check the ETS2 mod load order; for lighter alternatives, take a look at the realistic ETS2 mods.

Why is it so big?
The author doesn't explain it; it's 34 GB of textures, sounds and weather effects. Make sure you have the space before subscribing.
Why does my truck slide in the rain?
The mod's reflections and asphalt give the tires less grip. The author recommends Goodyear UltraGrip 315/80 tires.
I see a pink sky, what do I do?
