Before you download

  • The price is in-game money. ModHub mods are free; the figure is what the tractor costs in your savegame’s shop. We give it in dollars, as shown on the ModHub, but the game displays it in your savegame’s currency.
  • Consoles. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 (Farming Simulator: Signature Edition), mods are downloaded only from the in-game ModHub. Not all of them reach every platform: according to their mod pages, the Fendt 700 Vario Series, the Fendt 800 Vario Gen5, the John Deere 8000 and the John Deere 7810 aren’t listed for Switch 2. We explain it in the guide to Farming Simulator 25 on consoles.
  • Optional extras. Many tractors take advantage of the Interactive Control mod, which only exists on PC, to open doors or move controls with the mouse, and of the official Precision Farming pack for their sensors. Some, like the Fendt 1000 or the Valtra Package, have cameras that require the Mercedes-Benz DLC. Without these extras, the tractor works just the same.
  • Dependencies. Almost none of the tractors on this list need other mods. The exception is the Fendt Favorit 600 LS/LSA, which requires the Hauer XB Pack. If this is your first mod, follow the guide to installing mods in Farming Simulator 25.

Small tractors (up to 150 hp)

They’re the cheapest and handle the loader, a small trailer, the rake or your first seeder. Perfect for a savegame starting from scratch.

  • Massey-Ferguson 600 Series (blauea). Tractors from the eighties with 68 to 90 hp, in two-wheel drive ($22,500) or four-wheel drive ($26,500), with an optional loader. It’s one of the most downloaded classics on the ModHub, with almost 2,000 ratings.
  • CaseIH 1455/1255 XL 2.Gen. 125 hp, 40 km/h and $42,390, with a front loader and configurable colors and beacons. Cheap and versatile.
  • John Deere 6M Series (Just Farming). 130-140 hp and $109,500. It stands out for its digital dashboard and the many parts you can move with the mouse.
  • Valtra Package (Paul.). Six Valtras in one mod, from the 110 hp G Series ($84,000) to the 280 hp Q. A single mod covers you from yard tractor to heavy fieldwork.

Medium tractors (150 to 300 hp)

This is the most useful range for an average farm: they seed, pull grain trailers and handle mid-size implements.

  • Deutz-Fahr 6215 TTV (blauea). 207-226 hp, 50 km/h and $164,500 to $174,000. Compatible with Precision Farming since version 1.0.0.1.
  • JCB Fastrac 4000 iCON (RossN Mods). 178, 210 and 235 hp models for $218,500. It’s one of the most downloaded tractors on the FS25 ModHub, with almost 3,000 ratings.
  • Case IH Puma 185-260 (Waffle). Five models from 224 to 302 hp, 50 km/h and an animated cab. Compatible with the Precision Farming ISARIA sensor.
  • CLAAS AXION 870-800 (GIANTS Software). 205-295 hp, 50 km/h and $185,000 to $230,000. The latest version adds 1.5 m narrow wheels for working between rows.
  • Valtra Q Series (GIANTS Software). 230-305 hp in a tractor the shop classifies as medium; also available with narrow wheels.
  • New Holland T7 LWB PLMI (SZLM). Five models from 225 to 302 hp, with your choice of Power Command or Auto Command transmission and a Horizon Ultra cab.
  • John Deere 7810 (GIANTS Software) and John Deere Series 7010 (Virtual Farmers). The first puts out 175 hp and the second extends the series up to 195 hp; both cost $68,000. Powerful and cheap for getting started.

Large tractors (over 300 hp)

For wide cultivators, big seeders and heavy trailers. They only pay off when the farm has large fields.

Fendt

  • Fendt 900 Vario Series (Hans). Generations 7 and 6 in a single mod, from the 930 to the 942: 296-415 hp, 60 km/h and $266,500.
  • Fendt 900 Vario S4 (Ls_Agrar_Ole). The fourth generation, from 305 to 396 hp, with a configurable top speed (40, 50 or 60 km/h) and reverse drive.
  • Fendt 800 Vario Gen5 (Paul.). 826, 829 and 832 Vario, from 283 to 343 hp. It has an average of 4.9 out of 5 with more than 2,500 votes. Not listed for Switch 2.
  • Fendt 1000 Vario Series (Paul.). Four generations from 396 to 517 hp, 60 km/h and PTG tire pressure control.

John Deere

  • John Deere 8R Pack (Just Farming). 8R 2019, 8R 2022 and the tracked 8RX, from 290 to 458 hp. Since 1.0.0.4, a second player can ride along as a passenger in multiplayer.
  • John Deere 8R (2016-2018) US Series (JHHG Modding). 225-400 hp and $235,000, with 64 wheel configurations and working ILS suspension.
  • John Deere 8R (2009-2011) Series (JHHG Modding). The first 8R series, from 225 to 345 hp and $177,000, in North American and European versions.

Other brands

  • JCB Fastrac 8000 iCON (RossN Mods). From 306 to 400 hp and 70 km/h, the highest top speed on this list. Ideal if you lose a lot of time driving from one field to another.
  • Massey Ferguson 9S Patriotic (Kaymara). 285-425 hp, US or EU version and endless cosmetic options: flags, LEDs and horns that play tunes.
  • CLAAS Xerion 4200 – 5000 (Hans). 462-530 hp, 55 km/h, with wheels or Terra Trac tracks. It’s rated 4.8 with more than 1,500 votes.
  • CLAAS XERION 5000-4500 (GIANTS Software). The official version: 490-530 hp and 50 km/h, from $443,500.

Tracked and half-track tractors

Tracks spread the weight and give more traction with heavy implements or on slopes, at the cost of lower road speed.

  • CLAAS AXION 960-930 TERRA TRAC (GIANTS Software). Wheels up front and tracks in the back, from 355 to 445 hp, with a 40 km/h top speed.
  • Tracked versions from other packs: the 8RX from the John Deere 8R Pack, the tracks on both JHHG Modding 8Rs and the Terra Trac on Hans’ Xerion.
  • New Holland 88-85 (Peppe978). A compact 88 hp crawler tractor for $28,000, designed for hills, vineyards and terraces. It only reaches 13 km/h.
  • Fiat-Allis AD9 (Peppe978). An eighties crawler, 100-120 hp, with a front blade you can use for leveling or tilling.

Classic tractors

Besides the MF 600, the Case IH 1455 XL and the John Deere 7810 and 7010 above, these are the highest rated classics:

  • Fendt Favorit Series (Schnibbl Modding). Favorit 800 Turboshift and 900 Vario from the nineties, from 165 to 260 hp, with a Trac-style cargo platform. Rated 4.8 with more than 2,400 votes.
  • Fendt Favorit 600 LS/LSA (Polofreak211, Streetsfinest). Nine engines from 110 to 185 hp and $39,400. It requires the Hauer XB Pack, also free on the ModHub.
  • Fendt 900 TMS Vario (Smety). The 2002-2006 900 Vario, from 160 to 300 hp. Version 1.3.0.0, from April 2026, brings new sound and physics.
  • John Deere 8000 (Smety). The 1995-1999 8000 series, from 185 to 270 hp and $90,200, with a 16×4 Powershift transmission. Not listed for Switch 2.
  • Massey Ferguson 8200 (Vastilix). From the 8210 to the 8280 Xtra, from 145 to 290 hp, with a front loader and dual wheels.

Specialty tractors

  • Lindner Unitrac Pack (GIANTS Software). A 122 hp mountain implement carrier with a platform, slurry tank, manure spreader and matching loader wagon. For maps with slopes.
  • John Deere 110/112 Round Fender (SleutjesModding). An 8 or 12 hp garden tractor for $1,480, with a mid-mount mower.
  • Volvo Pack (GIANTS Software). It includes two classic Volvo tractors alongside wheel loaders and forestry machinery.

The official GIANTS tractors

GIANTS Software, the game’s studio, also releases free tractors on the ModHub. On this list, those are the CLAAS AXION 960-930 TERRA TRAC, the CLAAS XERION 5000-4500, the CLAAS AXION 870-800, the Valtra Q Series, the John Deere 7810 and the Lindner Unitrac Pack. Their handling matches the base game machinery and they’re usually small downloads. They’re on PC and consoles; the John Deere 7810 isn’t listed for Switch 2.

How to choose a tractor

  • Check how much power the implement needs. Every implement shows the required hp in the shop. For example, the Väderstad Rapid A800S seeder and the Krone ZX 470 GD loader wagon need 240 hp, the Dalbo MegaRoll 2430 roller 350 hp, and the Amazone D8-30 seeder gets by with 85 hp.
  • Think about the road. If your fields are far away, a fast tractor like the JCB Fastracs saves time. The 13 km/h crawlers are best moved on a lowboy like the Schwarzmüller Semi Lowloader 3A or the Pitts LB35-CS Lowboy.
  • Start cheap. Early in a savegame, a veteran mid-size tractor like the John Deere 7810 gets more done for the money than a 500 hp giant. Large tractors pay off once you have big fields and wide implements.
  • Match it to your map. Crawlers or the Lindner suit hilly maps; the Xerions and 8Rs suit maps with large fields. You’ll find ideas in our guide to Farming Simulator 25 maps.

Frequently asked questions

Do tractor mods work on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2?

Almost everything in this guide is on PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, always through the in-game ModHub. The Fendt 700 Vario Series, the Fendt 800 Vario Gen5, the John Deere 8000 and the John Deere 7810 aren’t listed for Switch 2.

Do I have to pay for them?

No. They’re all free on the ModHub. The price we give is what they cost inside the game, with your savegame’s money.

Can I add a mod tractor to a savegame I’ve already started?

Yes. Unlike maps, tractors can be enabled in a savegame you already have. Enable it when you load the savegame and it will show up in the shop. If you remove the mod later, the tractor will disappear from your farm.

What is the most powerful mod tractor?

On this list, the CLAAS Xerions reach 530 hp, both Hans’ version and the official GIANTS one. Next comes the Fendt 1000 Vario Series, with up to 517 hp.

Do I need the Mercedes-Benz DLC?

No. On tractors like the Fendt 1000, the Fendt 800 Gen5, the Valtra Package or the New Holland T7 LWB PLMI, that DLC is only needed to use the cameras. The rest of the tractor works without it.
