Farming Simulator 25 has been out on PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S since November 12, 2024, and it’s on Nintendo Switch 2 under a different name: Farming Simulator: Signature Edition. There’s no version for PS4, Xbox One or the original Nintendo Switch. You can use mods on PS5 and Xbox too, but only ones from the official ModHub and without scripts. PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox share multiplayer sessions (crossplay). Below you’ll find each version, how they differ and which one suits you.

Farming Simulator 25 on PS5
This is the most searched-for console version. It runs on any PS5: if you have the PS5 Digital Edition, buy the digital version on PlayStation Store, because the disc edition needs a disc drive. The PlayStation store page says it’s PS5 Pro Enhanced, supports up to 6 players online and requires PS Plus for online play. Text is available in Spanish; voices are English only.
Farming Simulator 25 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
On Xbox it only exists for Series X|S (and for cloud play with Xbox Cloud Gaming). There’s no Xbox One version. It joined Game Pass in August 2025 and, as of October 2026, the Xbox store lists it as included in Game Pass Premium and Ultimate, a cheap way to try it before you buy.
Farming Simulator 25 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
This is where most of the confusion comes from. On Switch 2 the game is called Farming Simulator: Signature Edition. GIANTS presents it as based on Farming Simulator 25, with three maps (North America, Europe and East Asia), more than 400 machines and the Mercedes-Benz Trucks pack. Since May 12, 2026 it has had a ModHub, with more than 4,000 mods reviewed by GIANTS. According to its page on Nintendo’s website it’s for 1 player, with no multiplayer, and takes up 22.5 GB.
On the original Switch there’s no FS25. The most recent release is Farming Simulator 26: Nintendo Switch Edition, which came out on May 19, 2026 for Switch and mobile with two new maps. It’s a different, simpler game and has nothing in common with FS25 savegames or mods.
What about PS4?
Farming Simulator 25 wasn’t released on PS4 or Xbox One: GIANTS launched it only for the current generation. If you own one of those consoles, the latest compatible game is Farming Simulator 22, which also has its own ModHub. Be wary of any «FS25 for PS4»: it doesn’t exist.

The Beans & Alpacas expansion, with a South American map, coffee and alpacas, comes out on October 27, 2026. Always buy from official stores: key reseller sites can sell you keys from another region or revoked keys, and GIANTS won’t give you support.
Mods on consoles: what you can and can’t do
On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, mods are downloaded only from the in-game ModHub. You can’t copy files from other websites. The limits come from the rules set by GIANTS and the console makers:
- No scripts. GIANTS doesn’t allow script mods on console. That’s why Courseplay, AutoDrive and Universal Autoload are PC and Mac only. Official GIANTS packs can include code, such as Precision Farming.
- Licensed brands only. A console mod can’t include brands that aren’t licensed in the game.
- Extra testing. Every mod first goes through the PC review and then a second console review (shaders, textures). That’s why a mod can take longer to reach console or stay PC only.
- Limited space. Mod storage on console is limited, and players often hit the cap when installing large maps. GIANTS doesn’t publish the figure on its official pages, so delete mods you don’t use.
Even so, the catalog is huge: in January 2026 GIANTS counted more than 4,500 mods on the FS25 ModHub, with almost 90% available on every platform. Crossplay: playing across PC, PS5 and Xbox
FS25 has cross-platform multiplayer between PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The rules are the ones GIANTS set for the series in FS22:
- Every player needs the same content as the host (DLC and mods).
- Console players can only join sessions whose mods are on the console ModHub. If the PC server runs a script mod, they won’t be able to join.
- You can filter servers to avoid crossplay and turn it off in the PlayStation or Xbox settings.
The Switch 2 Signature Edition isn’t part of crossplay: its store page lists 1 player.
Which version to pick
- PC: if you want every mod (including script mods and ones from outside the ModHub), the best graphics and the cheapest version on Steam. Check the system requirements first.
- PS5: if you want to play on the couch with a controller, with ModHub mods and crossplay with friends on PC.
- Xbox Series X|S: same as PS5, with the bonus of Game Pass to try it without buying it.
- Switch 2: if you want to play handheld and solo. It’s the version with the fewest online features.
- PS4, Xbox One or Switch 1: there’s no FS25. Play FS22 (PS4 and Xbox One) or FS26 (Switch).
