Wall-Climbing for Hytale

What this mod does

Wall-Climbing lets you climb any wall by spending stamina. It doesn’t need any items: just jump at a solid block while looking at it and tilt the camera in the direction you want to climb. If you look away, you let go.

Settings

Operators adjust it with /wallclimb config list, set and get, and with blacklist add/remove for blocks that can’t be climbed, such as ladders or ice. Default values:

• BaseStaminaDrainRate: 10 (stamina drain).
• BaseMinimumStaminaToClimb: 1.
• BaseClimbSpeed: 5 (the author recommends leaving it alone for now).
• ClimbDetachLookThreshold: 0, and ClimbStillThreshold: 0.7.
• BaseClimbStillSpeedMultiplier: 0.1 (drain while staying still on the wall).

Update 7 and limitations

Version 0.3.1, from October 12, 2026, is adapted to the «chapter 1 update» and has no dependencies. Stamina drains quickly on purpose, so climbs are short. With Update 7 the Scrap Glider also uses stamina, and the stamina bar moves down because the mana bar takes its place. The author warns that the mod is in development and will have bugs, and that WASD controls, holding the spacebar and climbing animations can’t be done yet because they depend on the client.

Requirements

• Hytale (Early Access) on PC or server, version 0.7 (file WallClimbing-0.3.1.jar)
• No dependencies
• Operator permissions to change the settings

How to install it

1. Open the Wall-Climbing page on CurseForge and click Install to set it up with the CurseForge app, or download WallClimbing-0.3.1.jar from the Files tab (the file marked 0.7).
2. If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into the mods folder: on Windows, %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
3. Open Hytale, right-click the world, check Wall-Climbing in the mod list and save the world settings.
4. On a dedicated server, put the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
5. Jump at a wall while looking at it and tilt the camera up to climb; if it drains too much stamina, lower the value with /wallclimb config set BaseStaminaDrainRate.
