What this mod does
NPC Tokens for Content Patcher, by siliconmodding, is a resource for mod authors. It adds a token to Content Patcher that returns data on any character in the game, including NPCs added by mods. On its own it does nothing; according to Nexus, about ten mods use it.
What data it provides
The token takes the NPC’s internal name and the piece of data you want to look up, for example Alex+Gender. The available data includes:
- Display name, gender, age and birthday (season and day).
- Personality traits: manners, social anxiety and optimism.
- Whether they’re marriageable, whether they have a Flower Dance partner, or whether they’re married or engaged.
- Whether they’re invisible, whether they can socialize or receive gifts, and whether they can have children.
The tokens don’t work through aliases, but they do work inside dynamic tokens. The author takes requests for new data.
Requirements and compatibility
It needs SMAPI; the token is used by Content Patcher mods. Version 1.0.2 (June 1, 2024, 12 KB) adds the NPC’s display name and is marked compatible with 1.6. The page doesn’t mention multiplayer or Android. Only install it if a mod asks for it.

How to install it
- Install SMAPI and Content Patcher first (see their mod pages) and launch the game once with SMAPI to make sure everything loads.
- Open the NPC Tokens for Content Patcher page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (NPCTokens 1.0.2). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Launch the game with SMAPI and check in the console that NPC Tokens shows up in the list of loaded mods with no red errors.

Does it do anything on its own?
No. It's a token that lets other mods look up NPC data.
