What this mod does
Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE), by FlashShifter, is the game’s most popular expansion: it expands the valley with new content and redesigns existing areas while keeping the original style.
What it adds
- 28 new NPCs and 278 character events.
- 58 locations and a redesigned world map.
- 43 fish, plus items, crops, quests, festivals and new music.
- Optional farms in separate files: Frontier Farm (the one the author recommends), Grandpa’s Farm and Immersive Farm 2 Remastered, designed for multiplayer or as a solo challenge. There’s also Grampleton Fields, an optional area for building.
Requirements
SMAPI, Content Patcher and Farm Type Manager. Version 1.15.11 (June 30, 2025) weighs 97.6 MB and is marked as compatible with 1.6. It no longer uses old frameworks like JSON Assets, SpaceCore or Shop Tile Framework, so you don’t need to install them for SVE.
Before you install
For 1.15 the author recommends starting a new save. If you update an existing save, you’ll have to reset the terrain features (trees, bushes and debris) in outdoor areas except your farm. If you donate the Galdoran Gems to the museum, turn on the option that allows moving them: trying to move them without it can softlock your save. In multiplayer, everyone must have SVE. Nexus links community-made Spanish translations, such as Stardew Valley Expanded – ESP, by llegible.

- If you want one of its farms, also download the matching optional file (Frontier Farm, Grandpa's Farm or Immersive Farm 2 Remastered; only one) or Grampleton Fields, and copy it into Mods.
- Launch the game with SMAPI, check that there are no red errors in the console and start a new save.

Common problems
Can I add SVE to a save I've already started?
You can, but the author recommends a new save for 1.15. If you update, you need to reset trees, bushes and debris in outdoor areas except the farm.
Do I need JSON Assets or SpaceCore for SVE?
No. The page says SVE no longer uses them; it only requires SMAPI, Content Patcher and Farm Type Manager.
Is it compatible with Ridgeside Village and East Scarp?
The Ridgeside and East Scarp pages declare themselves compatible with SVE and have specific fixes for it.
