What this mod does
Traffic Density & Behavior is a traffic mod by BillyBone99 that does two things: it raises the number of vehicles on the roads and tweaks the AI’s behavior so traffic flows more smoothly.
What it changes
- Density: there are more cars and trucks on the roads, and the amount changes with the time of day. At night traffic is lighter than during the day, just like in real life.
- Behavior: it adjusts the AI to improve traffic flow, with fewer sudden stops and fewer highway jams. The author points out that the result depends on the game’s own traffic limits.
Version
The only released version is 1.0.1.0, from May 15, 2026, which the author marks for ATS 1.59 and 1.60 (“update to 1.60”). The page was last updated on June 16, 2026. The author hasn’t confirmed 1.61 yet.
Compatibility
The page doesn’t list requirements, DLC or load order. If you use other traffic density mods, they’ll most likely conflict: keep only one enabled.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods and download the latest version (or use the Trucky client).
- Copy the .scs file to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager and disable any other traffic density mods.
- Try different times of day to notice the change in density.

No, the opposite: there's less traffic at night than during the day.
