What this mod does
Apple Maps Nav Module: Dark Mode (Default BG) is a module by Lism for his Apple Maps Navigation (Base) mod. It changes the colors of the in-game GPS and map to mimic Apple Maps’ Dark Mode, while keeping the default map background. It only works together with the base mod, which you install separately.
Load order
The author gives this order, from top to bottom:
- This module.
- The map background, if you use one.
- Apple Maps Navigation (Base).
- Map mods, if you use any.
Version and compatibility
According to the author, it works with 1.61 and later versions without needing an update; the latest update is from September 23, 2026. It’s compatible with all official map DLCs and can be used in Convoy as an optional mod, but it isn’t allowed on TruckersMP. It may not work with some map mods (the base mod’s page has the details).
ProMods and other modules
With ProMods you need a compatible map background: the author explains that if the top part of the map doesn’t show, the problem is the background, not the module. There are three other modules: Light Mode with the default background, Light Mode with a green background and Dark Mode with a green background.

How to install it
- Subscribe on Steam Workshop to Apple Maps Navigation (Base) and to this module.
- Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
- Place this module at the top, then the map background if you use one, then the base mod, and map mods below.
- Load your profile and open the GPS or the map to see Dark Mode.
Common problems
Does it work without the base mod?
No, it's just a module for Apple Maps Navigation (Base).
Does it work on TruckersMP?
No, the author says it isn't allowed; in Convoy it does, as an optional mod.
The top of the map is missing with ProMods
Use a ProMods-compatible map background; according to the author, the issue comes from the background.
Is there a light version?
Yes, the author has Light Mode modules and a dark one with a green background.
