You can download Euro Truck Simulator 2 legally from Steam: it’s the only store the game’s official website links to. It runs on Windows PCs, Mac, Linux and Steam Deck. As of October 2026, the base game costs €19.99 on Steam Spain, although Steam puts it on sale often. There’s an official free demo, and there’s no Android or iPhone version: the APKs you see online are fake or pirated.
Where to download the official Euro Truck Simulator 2
The buy page on eurotrucksimulator2.com takes you straight to the Steam store, both for the game and for its map expansions. The site’s «Buy Steam key» buttons also end up on Steam. So the route is always the same: you buy ETS2 on Steam (or activate on Steam a key bought from an authorized store) and download it with the Steam client.
It isn’t on the Epic Games Store or GOG, and there’s no «Steam-free» version. If a website offers ETS2 as a direct download, as an installer or a compressed file, it isn’t the official version.
What about cheap key sites?
An ETS2 «key» is just a code you activate on Steam, and it only works once. Some stores sell keys legitimately, but on resale marketplaces anyone can sell codes: they may be from another region and not activate in Spain, or they may have been bought fraudulently and get revoked later, which means you lose the game. - Updates to the base game, which SCS releases at no cost and which sometimes rebuild entire countries on the map.

Pages promising the full «Euro Truck Simulator 2 free» distribute pirated copies. Besides being illegal, they’re a common source of malware, they don’t get updates, and they don’t work with multiplayer or Steam Workshop.
How to download and install ETS2 on PC step by step
- Download the Steam client from store.steampowered.com and install it.
- Create a Steam account or sign in with yours.

SCS Software only releases ETS2 for Windows, macOS, Linux and SteamOS. There’s no official Android or iPhone version, so any «ETS2 APK» is a different game using the name, a pirated version or outright malware. Installing APKs from unknown websites can get you abusive ads, stolen accounts or dangerous permissions on your phone.
If you want to play on your phone legally, Steam offers Remote Play: with the Steam Link app you stream the game running on your PC to your phone or tablet. You need your PC switched on and a good Wi-Fi connection.
