Spain isn’t in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 base game: it comes with the Iberia DLC, a paid expansion released on April 8, 2021. It adds Spain and Portugal, with dozens of cities from A Coruña to Almería, the Tabernas desert and views of the Rock of Gibraltar from Algeciras. As of October 2026 it costs €17.99 on Steam Spain, although it’s usually discounted during Steam sales. If you want more detail, there are free mods that improve the peninsula, and the game has its interface in Spanish (Spain) and Catalan.
What Spain is like in ETS2: the Iberia DLC
Iberia is ETS2’s seventh map expansion and the only one covering the peninsula. According to the official Steam page, it takes you through landscapes ranging from the semi-arid deserts of the southeast to the forests of the north, with historic towns, narrow streets, churches and castles. The highlights:
- Madrid and Lisbon as capitals, and coastal cities such as Málaga or Olhão.
- The Tabernas desert (Almería), presented as the only desert in continental Europe.
- Ports with shipments to the rest of Europe and car factories that send parts and vehicles to the sea terminals.
- Rest areas and gas stations inspired by real ones, medieval castles and statues.
- The Guadiana International Bridge, with a viewpoint, and the Rock of Gibraltar seen from the Bay of Algeciras.
- New ambient sound and Steam achievements specific to Iberia.
Spanish cities in the Iberia DLC
These are the Spanish cities with companies to load and unload at (according to the community wiki, as of October 2026):
A Coruña, Albacete, Algeciras, Almaraz, Almería, Badajoz, Bailén, Barcelona, Bilbao, Burgos, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, El Ejido, Gijón, Granada, Huelva, León, Lleida, Madrid, Málaga, Mengíbar, Murcia, Navia, O Barco, Pamplona, Port de Sagunt, Puertollano, Salamanca, Santander, Sevilla, Soria, Tarragona, Teruel, València, Valladolid, Vandellòs, Vigo, Vila-real and Zaragoza.
In Portugal you’ll find, among others, Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Faro, Évora, Setúbal and Sines. SCS has kept expanding the area for free since launch: in 2021 it added new roads north of Madrid and a route from Sines to Sevilla via Beja, and in version 1.46 (2022) an industrial zone inspired by Arganda del Rey. The DLC focuses on the peninsula: it doesn’t include the Balearic or Canary Islands.
Which DLC connect to Spain
Iberia only requires the base game. Even so, it’s worth knowing how it joins the rest of the map:
- Without other DLC: you can travel to and from the peninsula by ferry from the northern ports (Santander and Bilbao) to the United Kingdom, which is in the base game.
- With Vive la France!: when Iberia came out, SCS added Bayonne and Lacq, next to the border, to this DLC for free to link France and the peninsula by road. It’s the most logical purchase after Iberia.
- With ProMods: the most popular free map requires all the official map DLC, Iberia included.

Spain mods for ETS2
If the DLC isn’t enough for you, these free add-ons expand the peninsula. They all run on top of ProMods, so you need it installed first (step by step in how to install ProMods):
- Iberia ProMods Rework: rebuilds Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar within ProMods, with updated signage, kilometer markers, new cities and roads, and junctions true to the real ones. It requires ProMods and all the map DLC. Check the compatible game version on its mod page before installing it.
- Portugal Rebuild: focuses on Portugal, with new cities, roads and logistics areas and real companies. Compatible with ETS2 1.61; it requires ProMods and the Iberia DLC.
- Irizar i8 Integral: not a map, but the coach from Gipuzkoa-based manufacturer Irizar. The current version is paid.

Spanish trucks and companies in the game
Among ETS2’s licensed trucks there’s no Spanish brand: the tractor units come from European manufacturers such as DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania or Volvo. The Spanish touch is in other details:
- Iberia DLC companies: the companies that give you cargo in Spain are fictional but set in the country, such as Casa Olivera, Cesta, Construcciones Elcano or Transportes Caballería.
- Spanish Paint Jobs Pack: an official 2016 DLC with six paint jobs featuring the Spanish flag and a cab accessory. It costs €0.99 (Steam Spain price as of October 2026).
- Multiplayer: you can also drive around the peninsula with friends. The options are in the ETS2 online guide.

ETS2 in Spanish: language and voices
Steam states that ETS2 has its interface in Spanish (Spain) and Catalan, plus 28 other languages. The game has no spoken dialogue; the only voice is the GPS, which SCS added in version 1.35 (2019) with Spanish among its first languages. To change it, go to the game’s options. If you’d rather have a different voice for the navigation, Steam Workshop has community-made GPS voices.
What about Euro Truck Simulator 2 Spain on PS5?
As of October 2026, ETS2 still isn’t on sale for PS5 or Xbox. SCS has announced the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, but with no date, and hasn’t said which DLC, Iberia included, will be available at launch. The latest is in the ETS2 on PS5 and Xbox guide. Today, to drive around Spain you need the game on PC (Windows, macOS or Linux) or on Steam Deck.

Is Spain included for free in Euro Truck Simulator 2?
No. You need the paid Iberia DLC, which you buy on Steam. The base game doesn’t include the peninsula.
Do you need Vive la France! to play in Spain?
It isn’t mandatory. Iberia works with just the base game and connects to the United Kingdom by ferry. With Vive la France! you also get the road route from Bayonne into France and the rest of Europe.
Are Barcelona and Tarragona in the game?
Yes, both are in the Iberia DLC, just like Lleida, Vandellòs, València or Zaragoza in the northeast.
Are the Canary or Balearic Islands included?
No. The official DLC focuses on the peninsula and doesn’t include the islands.
