ETS2 1.57 mods

1.57 came out on November 20, 2025 with the Scandinavia rework (new cities like Aarhus and Karlstad and a rebuilt Copenhagen), HDR support and dynamic loading and unloading, starting with logs and pipes. It also expanded the Scania R and S with SUPER and V8 engines of up to 770 hp.

Truck and cab mods dominate: interiors for the Scania S and R, the Next Generation Scania P G R S pack, Boreman lights, Hella headlights, an animated steering wheel and the Volvo FH open pipe. There's also the Barcelona EXP add-on for ProMods and Turkish company skins. Remember that maps and complex trucks usually need the exact version; skins and sounds often work even if the Mod Manager shows a warning.

How to play ETS2 1.57 on Steam

If your mods don't work on the latest version yet, SCS Software keeps previous game versions on Steam so you can keep using them. No password needed.

  1. In your Steam Library, right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2 and open Properties.
  2. Open the Betas tab and pick temporary_1_57 from the drop-down (it shows as “1.57.x for incompatible mods”). If you can't see it, restart Steam.
  3. Wait for Steam to download that version and open the game.

Before switching versions

  • Back up your profiles (the Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles folder, or steam_profiles if you use Steam Cloud): a save made on a newer version may not load on an older one.
  • Steam Workshop mods always download in their latest version. They'll only work on 1.57 if their author includes a package for that version; if not, download the older file by hand from the official source listed on each mod page.
  • DLC released after 1.57 may not work on that version.
  • This option only exists in the Steam version of the game.
