What this mod does
Elle’s Cuter Coop Animals is the coop version of Elle (junimods)’s animals. It uses the 1.6 skin system, so it doesn’t need any framework besides Content Patcher, and each new animal gets a random skin when you buy it, when it’s born or when it hatches.
What it adds
- 33 skins for white and brown chickens, 5 for void chickens, 8 for blue chickens and 4 for golden chickens.
- 25 duck skins, 76 rabbit skins and 18 dinosaur skins, with «void» variants for each animal.
- Since 1.0.3, geese as a duck option and triceratops as a dinosaur option.
- New icons in Marnie’s shop and optional recolors of the duck feather, rabbit’s foot and dinosaur egg.
Requirements and compatibility
It requires SMAPI and Content Patcher. Version 1.0.3 (April 11, 2026, 2.1 MB) is exclusive to 1.6. You choose the skins and each animal’s default replacement in the config.json, which is created when you open the game once. It’s compatible with Alternative Textures.
In multiplayer, everyone must have the mod with the same skins enabled to avoid errors or crashes. It conflicts with other mods that replace the same animals. It pairs well with Elle’s Cuter Barn Animals, its barn counterpart.

How to install it
- Install SMAPI and Content Patcher first (see their mod pages) and launch the game once with SMAPI to make sure everything loads.
- Open the Elle's Cuter Coop Animals page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Cuter Coop Animals 1.0.3). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Launch the game once with SMAPI so the config.json is generated, then close it.
- Edit the config.json to choose which skins are used and each animal's default skin.

Common problems
Does it work on the animals I already have?
Random skins apply to new animals. The ones you already have use the default skin you pick in the config.json.
Do I also need to install the barn animals one?
No. They're separate mods by the same author; you can use one, the other or both.
Does it work in multiplayer?
Yes, if everyone has the mod with the same skins enabled; if not, use only the default replacements.
