Extra Machine Configs (EMC) for Stardew Valley

What this mod does

Extra Machine Configs (EMC), by Selph (zombifier), adds new features to artisan machine recipes created with Content Patcher. According to Nexus, more than 100 mods use it. On its own it does nothing: it needs mods that take advantage of its options.

What it lets mods do

• Extra fuels for specific recipes, and byproducts.
• Items with multiple flavors and colors, including when cooking or crafting.
• Custom smoked items, items Junimos like, and extra context tags.
• Custom casks, slime incubators and crystalariums, and machines that produce on their own.
• Color overlays based on the item that goes into the machine.

Requirements and compatibility

It only needs SMAPI. Version 1.18.0 (August 8, 2026, 64 KB) changes how rules are copied from another machine, which only affects authors. Since 1.12.0 it’s for 1.6.14 and doesn’t work on earlier versions. It integrates with Automate, The Love of Cooking and Better Beehouses.

On Android, the author recommends 1.6.0 or earlier. There’s a separate Spanish translation on Nexus. As a player, only install it if a mod asks for it.

Requirements

• Stardew Valley 1.6.14 or later (PC)
• SMAPI 4.x
• Content Patcher mods that use it

How to install it

1. Install SMAPI first (see its mod page) and launch the game with it once to make sure it works.
2. Open the Extra Machine Configs page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Extra Machine Config 1.18.0). You need a free Nexus account to download.
3. Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
4. Launch the game with SMAPI and check in the console that Extra Machine Configs shows up in the list of loaded mods with no red errors.
