Immersive Spouses for 1.6 for Stardew Valley

What this mod does

Immersive Spouses started as a mod by aveii to give spouses their personality back, since in the base game they spend almost all their time at home after the wedding. This page is its 1.6 update, published by SuperMonkey1308 with the original creator’s blessing.

What it changes

• Base-game spouses leave the house about four days a week instead of two, and return to their usual hobbies and haunts.
• Examples: Haley takes photos again, Emily does yoga and works at the Saloon, Shane covers for Marnie at the shop on Tuesdays and Leah paints and sculpts by the lake or on the beach.
• Yearly medical checkups, visits to the Night Market, new dialogue in many locations and gifts back from your spouse.

What this version fixes

1.6 changed the size of the bus stop and spouses would get stuck there. This version fixes those routes, including on festival days, and Beta-0-9 (October 9, 2024, 66 KB) adds the missing schedules for Abigail and Sam. The author of the update warns that he won’t be adding new features.

Requirements

It requires SMAPI and Content Patcher. Since spouses spend more time out, you’ll see less of their at-home dialogue, and when it rains they stay home. Don’t install the original version at the same time.

How to install it

1. Install SMAPI and Content Patcher first (see their mod pages) and launch the game once with SMAPI to check that everything loads.
2. If you had the original Immersive Spouses, delete it from the Mods folder.
3. Open the Immersive Spouses for 1.6 page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Immersive-Spouses-0-9-beta). You need a free Nexus account to download.
4. Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
5. Launch the game with SMAPI and check that there are no red errors in the console.
