What this mod does

CAT C15 6NZ Stock Sound is the «stock» version of the Caterpillar C15 6NZ sound by Slav Jerry. If his straight-pipe CAT C15 6NZ sounds too loud to you, this is the same engine with factory mufflers, closer to what you hear on a working truck.

What’s included

  • C15 6NZ engines from 435 to 625 hp with stock mufflers.
  • Also replaces the C15 on the SCS Peterbilt 389 and Kenworth W900.
  • Engine fan that kicks in on its own.
  • Exhaust stack effects, distance attenuation and directional sound based on your position.

Compatibility

It works on some SCS trucks and on many modded ones; in the comments the author confirms it works on DOM’s and Jon Ruda’s trucks. He also says it can be used as an optional mod on Convoy, although one user says they couldn’t join a server with it.

Version and credits

This is version 1.0: released on October 31, 2025 and updated on March 31, 2026, around ATS 1.58. The author doesn’t list a game version. Credits: Slav Jerry (sound) and Louisiana Truckspotting (exhaust samples). The same author also made the Cummins ISX stock sound.
