What this mod does
SCS Flatbed Tandem Sliding Chassis is a mod by Silver SL that adds a chassis with a sliding tandem axle to SCS’s flatbed, in three different lengths.
Three lengths
- 45 feet: sliding chassis designed for shorter loads.
- 48 feet: the middle ground, with more flexibility.
- 53 feet: the maximum length for cargo.
All three use a tandem axle setup. The sliding chassis system is the main new feature compared with the game’s original flatbed.
Version
It’s version 1.0, released on September 6, 2026. The author says it’s compatible with ATS 1.60 and later, and the Steam page doesn’t require any DLC or other mods. The description comes in English and Spanish, which is unusual for trailer mods.
What it doesn’t clarify
The page doesn’t say whether it works in Convoy or TruckersMP, and it doesn’t give a load order. If you use other mods that change SCS’s flatbed, test it first in a separate profile. One user has already asked the author for a sliding version of the dropdeck trailer, so there may be more versions in the future.

How to install it
- Open the "SCS Flatbed Tandem Sliding Chassis" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable "SCS Flatbed Tandem Sliding Chassis".
- Go to the trailer dealer or the service shop with your SCS flatbed and pick the 45, 48 or 53-foot chassis.
