What this mod does
ProMods The Great Steppe (Ferry Connection) is a free mod by kratos jakub that adds ferries to ProMods The Great Steppe, the ProMods expansion across Central Asia, from all over the map. That way you can reach the Caspian Sea without driving across Europe.
Routes it adds
- Caspian ports (Aktau, Kuryk, Oqsho and Alat) connected to Estonia, Georgia, Poti, Smardan, Calais, Travemünde, Oslo, Durrës, Ancona, Bari, Trieste, Limassol, Athens, Kalamata and Gdańsk.
- Base map ports: Bognes, Umeå and Santander.
- With ProMods Europe: Holmsund, Dublin, Cherbourg, Seyðisfjörður, Ísafjörður, Tórshavn and Patras.
- Ferries to ProMods Maghreb (Tunis and Tanger Med) and to Grandville, from Grand Utopia, departing from Algeciras and Wexford.
- Bandırma and Samsun, in Turkey, if you use RoExtended.
Version 2.4
Version 2.4, released September 19, 2026, is the build for ETS2 1.61. It adds a ferry from Roscoff to Jacobo Island, which only has a terminal, a garage and a service shop. Since 2.1 it includes a «No Promods» file, because the game used to crash without the main ProMods files. The author tested it with the base map.
Load order
In the basic setup it goes above the ProMods The Great Steppe files (resources at the bottom; definitions and map above). With non-ProMods maps such as RoExtended, put it at the very top, above their Core file. The author’s page covers the other combinations.

How to install it
- Go to the mod page on TruckyMods (kratos jakub's verified account).
- Download version 2.4.
- Copy the files to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager above ProMods The Great Steppe; with RoExtended, at the very top.
- If you don't use ProMods Europe, also enable the "No Promods" file.
- Look for the ferries to the Caspian at the ports on the map.

Common problems
Do I need ProMods Europe?
No. It works with ProMods The Great Steppe alone; since 2.1 it ships a "No Promods" file for players who don't use it.
Where do the ferries depart from?
From ports such as Calais, Oslo, Travemünde, Bari, Trieste, Athens, Santander, Umeå or Gdańsk, depending on the maps you have.
Does it work on 1.61?
Yes. Version 2.4 is marked for ETS2 1.61.
What is Jacobo Island?
A new destination in 2.4, reached by ferry from Roscoff; it only has a terminal, a garage and a service shop.
