What this mod does
Custom Cask Mod, by Digus, expands what you can do with the casks in the cellar. In the base game only wine, beer, mead, cheese and a few other products age; with this mod you can add any item.
What it lets you do
- By default it adds pickles and maple syrup to the products that can be aged.
- In
CaskData.json(created on first launch) you can add items by ID, category or name and change their aging rate: 56 divided by that rate gives the days to iridium quality. - An
EnableCasksAnywhereoption to use casks outside the cellar. - With Mail Framework Mod you get a letter from the farmers’ association with the cask recipe if you don’t have it.
Compatibility
Version 1.6.0 adapted it to 1.6 using the game’s machine data, and the current file is 1.6.3 (May 19, 2024, 33 KB). It’s tagged as Android-compatible. It’s compatible with Automate (by item ID only) and is configured with Generic Mod Config Menu. Other mods can add their own products and custom «agers.» It may conflict with other mods that change casks. Gonzy42 publishes the Spanish translation on Nexus.

Requirements

How to install it
- Install SMAPI and Mail Framework Mod (on Nexus) first and launch the game once with SMAPI to make sure they load.
- Open the Custom Cask Mod page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (CustomCaskMod-v1.6.3). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Extract the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Launch the game once so config.json and CaskData.json are created in the mod folder, and add the items you want to age there.
- Place a cask with SMAPI running and put in pickles or maple syrup to check that it accepts them.
