What this mod does
Happy Birthday gives your farmer something the game doesn’t have: a birthday of their own. At the start, Lewis asks you for the date at your front door (or a menu appears when you wake up), and on that day the town celebrates.
What happens on the day
- Villagers wish you a happy birthday and give you gifts based on your friendship (by default, from two hearts up).
- Your parents send you a letter, and anyone who doesn’t wish you well in time will do it by mail the next day.
- With five hearts with the whole town there’s a party at the saloon, and your spouse sets up an event with your favorite gift.
- The Junimos or the Joja folks celebrate too, depending on your route.
Requirements and compatibility
It needs SMAPI 4.0 or later, Stardust Core and the English content pack (Happy Birthday English Content Pack); Content Patcher is only needed for packs made with it. Since 3.21.0 it offers those packs the IsPlayersBirthday token. It doesn’t work on Android or iOS, and the author doesn’t guarantee compatibility with other mods, although 3.16 added code for Stardew Valley Expanded events.
To play in Spanish there are several translations on Nexus; Juanpa98ar’s is marked for 1.6.

Requirements
- Stardew Valley 1.6.x (PC only; doesn't work on Android or iOS)

How to install it
- Install SMAPI, Stardust Core and the Happy Birthday English Content Pack (all on Nexus) first and launch the game once with SMAPI to make sure they load.
- Open the Happy Birthday page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Happy Birthday 3.21.4). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Extract the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Optional: for a Spanish version, download 'Happy Birthday (Spanish) (1.6)' by Juanpa98ar on Nexus and follow its instructions.
- Launch the game with SMAPI and load your save: Lewis will ask for your birthday when you step out of the house.

Common problems
Can I change the date later?
Yes, with the console command Omegasis.Happy_Birthday.reset_birthday.
Does it work in co-op?
Yes: the changelog fixes farmhands having to pick their birthday again every time they connected.
Is it available in Spanish?
There are separate translations on Nexus; Juanpa98ar's is marked for 1.6.
