What this mod does
Mail Services Mod, by Digus, turns your farm mailbox into a post office. It lets you run errands with the villagers without crossing the map.
Services
- Tool upgrades: you send the tool to Clint with the money and bars, and he mails it back when it’s ready (one at a time).
- Quest deliveries: you can mail the items for active quests.
- Lost items: after joining the Adventurer’s Guild, Marlon offers to recover one random item or everything lost in the mines, for a fee unless you remove it.
- Gifts for villagers (not your spouse or children), with an immediate effect on friendship.
Each service can be disabled and has fixed and percentage fees you can configure in config.json or with Generic Mod Config Menu.
Requirements and compatibility
It needs SMAPI and Mail Framework Mod. Version 1.6.1 was recompiled for 1.6.9, and 1.6.2 (March 19, 2025) fixes the frying pan from The Love of Cooking. Since 1.6.0 it accepts any tool Clint can upgrade, including some from mods. The item recovery settings are per player. There are separate Spanish translations on Nexus.

Requirements

How to install it
- Install SMAPI and Mail Framework Mod (on Nexus) first and launch the game once with SMAPI to make sure they load.
- Open the Mail Services Mod page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (MailServicesMod-v1.6.2). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Extract the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Optional: look on Nexus for one of the Spanish translations of Mail Services Mod if you want it in Spanish.
- Launch the game with SMAPI, go to your farm mailbox and choose the service you want to use.

Common problems
How much does a tool upgrade by mail cost?
The same as at the blacksmith (money and bars), plus whatever service fee you configure.
Can I send gifts to my spouse?
No: mail gifts exclude your spouse and children.
Does it work in co-op?
Yes; item recovery settings are saved per player.
