What this mod does
Reverse Proposal, by GreenOnion24, flips the game’s courtship around. Instead of you handing over the bouquet, the character asks you to be their partner once you reach 8 hearts, in a scene of its own.
What it adds
- A confession event that triggers right after you reach 8 hearts, if you’re in the right place at the right time.
- A date before the confession, added in 2.0.1, for now only for Sebastian and Alex.
- Confession dialogue for several bachelors; 1.0.1 added Shane and Sam.
The author plans to include the bachelorettes (Abigail, Haley, Maru, Emily and Leah), possibly a second part with the marriage proposal, and to move the confessions to each character’s favorite spots.
Requirements and compatibility
It requires SMAPI and Content Patcher. Version 2.0.1 (June 20, 2024, 15 KB) is the 1.6 version. Known issue: the camera angle may be off if you don’t use Stardew Valley Expanded and Immersive Farm 2; the author plans to fix it. The page doesn’t mention multiplayer. There are Russian, Chinese, Thai and Korean translations, but no Spanish one.

How to install it
- Install SMAPI and Content Patcher first (see their mod pages) and launch the game once with SMAPI to check that everything loads.
- Open the Reverse Proposal page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Reverse Proposal 2.0.1). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Raise your friendship with a bachelor to 8 hearts and wait for the event to trigger.
