Pigeon Mailbox for Stardew Valley

What this mod does

Pigeon Mailbox replaces the farm mailbox with one featuring pigeons, in the same Gweniaczek style as Medieval Buildings. It’s a small change, but the mailbox is somewhere you walk past every day, so you notice it.

What it offers

• Four mailbox designs, one of them with a small table, chosen in config.json.
• Seasonal variants.
• Colors matched to five recolors, including DaisyNiko’s Earthy Recolour and Vibrant Pastoral.

Do I need it if I have Medieval Buildings?

No. The author notes that the mailbox is already included in Medieval Buildings. This mod is for anyone who wants just the mailbox without changing the rest of the buildings. If you want the full set, add Way Back Pelican Town for the town and her fish ponds.

Requirements and compatibility

It needs SMAPI and Content Patcher. File 2.1 (March 20, 2024, 339 KB) is updated for 1.6; 2.0 is kept for 1.5.6 and Android. It conflicts with other mods that change the mailbox. It has no text to translate and the page doesn’t mention multiplayer.

How to install it

1. First install SMAPI and Content Patcher (see their mod pages) and launch the game once with SMAPI to check that everything loads.
2. Open the Pigeon Mailbox page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Pigeon Mailbox 2.1). You need a free Nexus account to download.
3. Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder inside the game folder. If you had an older version, delete it first instead of overwriting it.
4. Launch the game once with SMAPI so config.json is generated and choose one of the four mailboxes there.
