What this mod does
Dalton and Elliot Hwy Extreme is one of the longest-running maps in ATS: hawkbs started it in 2016 and is still expanding it. It recreates Alaska’s Dalton Highway, the ice road truckers’ highway, at 1:1 scale, from Fairbanks toward Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay. The author himself admits he hasn’t finished even a third of the route yet.
What it offers
- Real-time trips: Fairbanks to Fox takes about 20 minutes, and to Yukon River Camp about 3.5 hours.
- More XP per delivery to make up for the distances (pay doesn’t change).
- Dealers in Fairbanks, Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay, engines and transmissions tuned for the map, state police and custom liveries.
- The winter edition adds Northstar Island and an ice road.
Before you install
It’s a standalone map: it doesn’t work with Coast to Coast or any other map, and it needs a new profile. Since 1.54 you have to add uset r_buffer_page_size "25" to config.cfg to avoid a crash near Fairbanks Rail. With very heavy loads you may need a pusher truck on the hills.
Version
Version 1.59.2.0s (June 7, 2026) is tagged for ATS 1.59, and the author says it’s compatible with 1.60. No version for 1.61 has been announced yet.

Requirements
- American Truck Simulator 1.59 or 1.60
- New profile (saves from other maps won't work)
- The line uset r_buffer_page_size "25" in config.cfg
How to install it
- Open the official thread and pick the winter or summer edition (each one has its own TruckyMods page).
- Copy the .scs files to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Edit config.cfg and set uset r_buffer_page_size "25".
- In the Mod Manager, keep the winter chains at the top and the 3- and 5-hour weather files above the 10-hour one, as the author explains.
- Create a new profile, choose Dalton.mdb as the map and skip the tutorial.

Common problems
Can I use it with Coast to Coast or another map?
No. The author describes it as a standalone map that isn't compatible with any other map.
Will my current save work?
No. You need a new profile created with the Dalton.mdb map.
Does it work in ATS 1.61?
The author only says it's compatible with 1.59 and 1.60; wait for a new version if you're already on 1.61.
Do I need any DLC?
The author doesn't require any; he just gives extra tips for anyone with the Heavy Cargo Pack.
