ETS2 trailer mods: the best ones (1.61)

The best ETS2 trailer mods for 1.61 are Jazzycat’s Trailers and Cargo Pack, if you want more trailers and cargo in the freight market, and Ventyres’ Ewers and Schröder semi-trailers, if you’re after owned trailers for your fleet. For swap bodies and long combinations, Sebastian7870’s Krone package is also up to date. Other classics, like Kast’s Ekeri and NTM or Dotec’s Kögel, are still marked for earlier versions. What changed for trailers in 1.61

1.61, released by SCS on September 17, 2026, is the current stable version. For trailers it brought two official changes worth knowing about before you fill the game with mods:

• Livestock trailer rebuilt from scratch. The old variant is removed and, if you buy it, you can choose a straight or lowered three-axle chassis, an aluminum or fully paintable body, and several accessories.
• Paint by sections. Owned livestock trailers support up to four different color sections.
• Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack. The DLC’s low loader was rebuilt to look like the manufacturer’s current model. SCS presents it as the start of a renewal of the whole pack.

Before installing a trailer mod

• Where does it show up? An «ownable» trailer appears at the trailer dealer and you use it with your own truck. Others only appear in the freight market, and some packs only fill traffic. We note it for each mod.
• Game version. A trailer marked for 1.60 may work on 1.61 or throw errors; test it first on a secondary profile.
• DLCs and dependencies. The Krone swap body mods need the Krone Trailer Pack DLC and other mods by the same author.
• Size. Some packs are almost 3 GB. Check your free space and the load order if you combine several.

Trailer and cargo packs

Trailers and Cargo Pack by Jazzycat

The Trailers and Cargo Pack is the biggest package on this list: 175 trailer models from manufacturers like Kögel, Fliegl, Schmitz and Krone, 772 new cargoes spread across 419 companies, 744 traffic trailers and around 3000 skins. It’s standalone, needs no DLC and works with any map. Version 11.10.6 is the one for 1.61, and it takes almost 3 GB in three parts.

Railway and Military Cargo Pack

From the same author, the Railway Cargo Pack adds 86 railway cargoes to 59 companies, and the Military Cargo Pack adds 208 military cargoes to 74 companies, with an optional file to see them in traffic. Both are updated to 1.61 and require you to enable the base file and the language file together.

Randon bitrem and semi-trailer

The Randon bitrem brings two coupled semi-trailers, very typical of Brazil, plus a single semi-trailer. You can’t buy it: it shows up in the freight market and the World of Trucks external market with the game’s regular cargoes. Watch its length in cities and at gas stations.

Owned trailers for your fleet

Ventyres’ Ewers and Schröder

The Ewers semi-trailers are bought at their own dealer: a HUROWA Plus drop-side box and a P-CS curtainsider, with 2 or 3 axles, a self-steering axle and a tail lift. The Schröder curtainsiders come in four high-volume variants (XL, Jumbo, Jumbo XL and Jumbo XXL) with real factory capacity and accept the same cargoes as a regular curtainsider. Both are marked for 1.61 (the Schröder adapted its physics to that version on September 19, 2026) and both are free.

Kast’s Nordic trailers

Kast is one of the most respected trailer modders. His Ekeri Trailers Revision brings together standard, lowered, city, double and HCT semi-trailers, plus drawbar trailers for rigid trucks, with a lift axle and animated cables. The NTM semitrailers were completely rebuilt in November 2025 and support company paint jobs, and Bussbygg adds Citymax, Euromax, Thermomax and Volumax bodies, also for rigids. All three are declared up to 1.60: check their pages before using them on 1.61.

Dotec’s Kögel and Feldbinder KIP

Dotec’s Kögel trailers are original models with lots of detail: curtainsider, Mega, box, EuroCombi and car transporter, with SAF axles and a Palfinger forklift. The latest version is 2.2.1.58, for 1.58. LadenSwallow’s Feldbinder KIP tankers offer 30 to 63 m³, ADR versions, doubles and B-doubles; 8.3 is for 1.59 and 1.60, and it coexists with the official Feldbinder pack.

To test at your own pace

JUseeTV’s Schmitz S.KO COOL reefer is marked for 1.55 to 1.58, and Used Trailers at Dealership is an experiment by Gelex for 1.60 that sells used Krone S3 trailers, each with its own mileage and wear; it needs Smaen’s Krone S3 Revived.

Swap bodies and long combinations

If you like Central European parcel hauling, Sebastian7870’s system works in pieces. The base is the Krone Swap Body Pack (14 Krone swap bodies and 50 skins), which on its own doesn’t add anything playable. On top of it go the Swap Body Carrier Chassis Pack, with swap body carrier chassis for 19 trucks; the Krone Profi Box Carrier Pack, with a turntable trailer and a center-axle trailer; and the Krone LHV Type 3, which builds extra-long «Lang-LKW» combinations. Everything is updated to 1.61 and requires the Krone Trailer Pack DLC. Place the dependencies below them in the Mod Manager.

For drawbar trailers on Scandinavian-style rigids, Kast’s Rigid chassis addon turns the game’s trucks into rigids with their own body. And if you’d rather see these combinations on the road without driving them, the Mr Larrington Traffic Trailer Pack fills traffic with doubles, B-doubles and HCTs.

Trailers and details for Spain and Turkey

• STD and CNT HCT trailers Spain compatible: makes SCS’s HCT trailers, the «duo trailers», usable in Spain. It weighs 61 kB.
• Spanish manufacturers mudflap pack: mudflaps from Lecitrailer, Leciñena, Parcisa, Sor and five other manufacturers for SCS’s trailers.
• Spanish transport company skins and the Sesé pack: liveries for your trailers.
• Türk Dorse Firmaları and Kamyon Arkası Yazılar: Turkish company liveries for SCS’s trailers and Turkish slogans for the mudflaps.

Load order and installation

1. Download each pack from the author’s official page linked on its mod page (Steam Workshop, the SCS forum or ModLand) and copy the .scs files to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
2. In the Mod Manager, place trailers and cargo packs above maps, and add-ons (skins, dependencies) as each author says.
3. Don’t mix several large packs that touch the same companies without checking for conflicts.
4. Look for the trailer under Trailers > Dealers or in the freight market, depending on the mod.
