FS25 CoursePlay and AutoDrive: other scripts for PC

CoursePlay in Farming Simulator 25: what it automates, its version, AutoDrive, Universal Autoload and other PC scripts, plus alternatives on PS5 and Xbox.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

CoursePlay in Farming Simulator 25 is still the go-to automation mod: it creates field work courses so your helpers can harvest, unload, collect bales or work the silo. It’s a free download from the official ModHub (version 8.1.0.3), but it only works on PC and Mac, because GIANTS doesn’t allow scripts in console mods. Its natural companion is AutoDrive, which drives your vehicles on the road between the field, the farm and the selling points. In this guide we explain what each one does, how to install them, how to combine them with Universal Autoload and which other scripts are worth it. At the end you’ll see what alternatives you have if you play on PS5, Xbox or Switch 2.

What a script is and why it doesn’t come to console

A script is a mod that adds code to the game, not just models or textures. That’s how it can change the way helpers work, how trailers are loaded or the info menu. GIANTS explained on its official website in April 2025 that on console «scripts are not allowed» in mods and that brands must be licensed in the game. Official GIANTS packs like Precision Farming are the exception, because GIANTS is responsible for the code.

That’s why CoursePlay, AutoDrive, Universal Autoload and the rest of the scripts in this guide are exclusive to PC and Mac. More details in the guide to Farming Simulator 25 on consoles.

CoursePlay: field work courses

CoursePlay has been around the Farming Simulator community for almost 15 years. Its FS25 version is published by the Courseplay.devTeam on ModHub and it replaces and extends the base game’s helpers: you decide how and where the machines work.

What it can automate

  • Generate and edit field work courses, with headlands and a course editor on its own screen.
  • Put up to five machines to work in a convoy on the same field (multi-tool mode).
  • Harvest with automatic unloading into trailers, or have the combine unload on its own.
  • Collect and wrap bales.
  • Work vineyards and other special crops.
  • Pick up heaps from the field or empty bunker silos with a shovel or loader, and push and compact the silo.

Version and requirements

  • Version 8.1.0.3 (February 11, 2026), 3.79 MB, rated 4.5 on ModHub.
  • Version 8.1.0.0 revamped the interface, gave the course editor its own screen, added a loop turn on the headland for towed implements that can’t reverse, and sped up path calculation.
  • Version 8.1.0.3 fixes a multiplayer bug when starting a helper with the implement already unfolded.
  • It needs the latest game patch. If it doesn’t load, update Farming Simulator 25 first.

Getting started

CoursePlay is controlled from its own menu, which you open with buttons on the HUD. Its official help explains that with expert mode turned off you’ll only see some settings; the rest use default values that work in most cases. Start that way and turn it on once you’ve mastered the basics. The official online help (CourseplayHelpFS25) has sections on the course generator, the minihud and each type of job.

A practical tip: try it first with a single field and a single machine, for example a combine with a trailer unloading alongside it. Once the course works, add more vehicles to the convoy. If your towed implements can’t reverse, use the headland loop turn that came with 8.1.0.0. And if you play with very large machinery mods, check each mod’s page to see whether its author mentions compatibility with AI workers.

AutoDrive: your vehicles on the road

AutoDrive is the best-known self-driving script in the series. You lay out a network of routes on the map and send your vehicles from one point to another without driving: from the field to the silo, from the farm to the shop or to a parking spot.

  • Where to download it: it isn’t on ModHub. Its team publishes it on the official GitHub (FS25_AutoDrive), under the MIT license. On PC, download the .zip of the latest version and copy it, without unzipping, into Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2025\mods.
  • How to open it: the panel opens with Left Alt + Numpad 0, and the settings with Alt + Ctrl + 0.
  • How to record routes: in edit mode, you drive with the REC button on. You can record one-way, two-way, reverse or secondary routes. Each destination is a named point.
  • What the drivers do: load and unload trailers, pick up grain from combines, refuel and respect right of way at intersections.
  • Version: 3.0.1.2. Since 3.0.0.8 it requires at least FS25 1.7. Version 3.0.1.0 (March 2026) added traffic control to avoid jams and support for the bunker silo from the Highlands Fishing DLC.
  • Multiplayer: it works in hosted games and on servers, although the route manager and automatic network creation aren’t available on servers.

You have to record or import the route network for each map, so the first savegame takes some time. It pairs with CoursePlay for transport between fields, sheds and selling points.

Universal Autoload: automatic pallet loading

Universal Autoload, by loki_79, adds autoload to the base game’s trailers, including the ones you already own. It loads pallets, containers and logs by type, by material or mixed, in stacks or in layers. It’s compatible with AutoDrive and CoursePlay, so you can automate all the transport on a farm with production chains. Version 1.1.1.0 fixes duplicated pallets in the shop, and 1.1.0.0 added support for the Highlands DLC.

Other useful scripts for PC

Mod What it does Who it’s for
LumberJack Chainsaw with adjustable speed and reach, stump grinding in about 3 seconds and a strength mode to move logs Players who work the forest
Additional Field Info Each field’s area, price per hectare and expected yield in the info panel Players who buy land and plan ahead
Cultivator Field Creator Creates new field with cultivators, harrows, spaders and subsoilers, not just the plow Players who expand or redraw fields

They’re all free and PC/Mac only. Additional Field Info has a 4.9 rating from almost 1,400 votes on ModHub.

Recommended combinations

  1. Large grain farm: CoursePlay to harvest and unload in the field, AutoDrive to take the grain to the silo or to sell it.
  2. Farm with production chains: AutoDrive with Universal Autoload to move pallets between factories and selling points.
  3. Forestry: LumberJack to cut trees and Universal Autoload to load logs onto forestry vehicles.

Install scripts one at a time and test each one on a copy of your savegame. If something goes wrong, the log.txt file in the FarmingSimulator2025 folder tells you which mod is causing the error. We explain it in the guide to installing mods in FS25.

If you play on console: alternatives without scripts

On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 there’s no CoursePlay or AutoDrive, but some mods on the console ModHub save you similar work:

Frequently asked questions

Is CoursePlay available on PS5 or Xbox?

No. CoursePlay is a script, and GIANTS doesn’t allow scripts in console mods. It only works on PC and Mac.

Where do I download CoursePlay for Farming Simulator 25?

From the official ModHub, in the game itself or on farming-simulator.com. The current version is 8.1.0.3. Don’t use reuploads from other sites.

Do I need AutoDrive to use CoursePlay?

No. CoursePlay works on its own for field work. AutoDrive is optional and handles road trips; the two complement each other.

Why doesn’t CoursePlay show up in my savegame?

The most common reasons are that the game isn’t on the latest version, that the mod isn’t enabled on that savegame’s mod selection screen, or that the .zip has been unzipped. Check the log.txt too.

Do they work in multiplayer?

Yes. CoursePlay, AutoDrive and Universal Autoload work in multiplayer on PC, but all players must have the same versions. Console players won’t be able to join a game with scripts.
