What this mod does
Stardew Aquarium, by the Project Stardew Aquarium team, adds an aquarium and a large beach that you travel to by train for 20g. The idea is simple and addictive: donate the fish you catch to fill its animated tanks, like an ocean version of the museum.
What it adds
- An outdoor beach map and the aquarium interior, open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM except during festivals.
- Animated tanks that fill up with each donation, and rewards such as a blobfish mask, the curator’s hat for completing it and a legendary bait.
- Three shops: a beach shop, an ice cream shop and the submarine, with fishing gear that expands as you donate.
- A secret legendary fish that opens a hidden room when you donate it.
Requirements and compatibility
It requires SMAPI, Content Patcher, Custom Companions, SpaceCore, Central Station, Custom NPC Exclusions, Esca’s Modding Plugins and HxW Tilesheets. Version 2.3.0 (February 27, 2025, 5.4 MB) builds on a rewrite by Pathoschild that removed Json Assets. It can be added to or removed from any save, and it works in multiplayer and on Android (there, donations are made from a shop-style menu).
It accepts fish from SVE, Ridgeside Village, East Scarp and other mods, and includes a Spanish translation.

- No changes since February 2025
Requirements
- Stardew Valley 1.6.x (PC or Android)
- SMAPI 4.x
- Content Patcher, Custom Companions and SpaceCore
- Central Station, Custom NPC Exclusions, Esca's Modding Plugins and HxW Tilesheets
How to install it
- Install SMAPI first (see its mod page) and launch the game once with it to make sure it works.
- Install the requirements: Content Patcher, Custom Companions, SpaceCore, Central Station, Custom NPC Exclusions, Esca's Modding Plugins and HxW Tilesheets.
- Open the Stardew Aquarium page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Stardew Aquarium 2.3.0). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- If you're updating from an old version, delete the previous folder first. Extract the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Launch the game with SMAPI and take the train to the aquarium using the ticket machine at the station.
