ATS truck mods

Here are 32 mods for trucks in American Truck Simulator: semi trucks the game doesn't include, like the Kenworth T660, common in Mexico until 2017, or the T800; classics from the '60s to the '90s; reworks of the stock Peterbilt and Volvo trucks; and accessory packs to customize your Kenworth or International. Almost all are free, and each mod page links only to its author's official download (Steam Workshop, TruckyMods or their website). They're reviewed for 1.61, the stable version; 1.62 has been in open beta since October 20, 2026, and many mods haven't been updated for it yet.

The best ATS truck mods to start with

• Kenworth T660: the T600's successor, common in Mexico until 2017, free with a factory cab and accessories. Updated for 1.61.
• GTM Kenworth T800: the GTM team's sloped-nose T800, with several chassis and cabs. On 1.61 you also need the GTM Fixes patch.
• Project 3XX: a '90s Peterbilt with 330, 357, 377, 379 and EXHD hoods in a single truck. Free on TruckyMods, marked for 1.57 through 1.61.
• Kenworth W900L Accesories Pack: bumpers, visors, exhausts, mud flaps, grilles and 36 colors for the SCS W900L, by JorgeGamer44444. Version 16.0 for 1.61; requires the W900 Tuning Pack DLC.
• International HX520 2022: a standalone truck with six wheelbases and Cummins X15 engines. Free and updated for 1.61.
• Peterbilt 389 Rework: overhauls the stock 389 with 389X parts, grilles, bumpers and eight interiors. For 1.58 through 1.61.
• Mack R Series: the late-'70s Mack R with the R600 hood, an animated interior and Kriechbaum sound. Free and for 1.61.
• Freightshaker Classic XL: a paid ($35) recreation of the Freightliner Classic XL with 10 cabs and 8 chassis, for 1.58 through 1.61.

What to keep in mind

• New truck or parts: standalone trucks, like the T660 or the HX520, are added without touching the stock ones. JorgeGamer44444's accessory packs for the International LT or the Kenworth T680 2022 only add options to the upgrade shop for those SCS trucks.
• DLC and patches: some require a tuning DLC or a separate patch, like the T800 with GTM Fixes. Without them, the mod may not work.
• Version: some trucks are only tested up to 1.56, like the International 9800i. If the author declares compatible versions and yours isn't listed, the game won't let you activate it.
• Mexican touch: add plates from all 32 Mexican states with plate holders and, if you like, a paint job from the skins category.
• Installation: subscribe on Steam Workshop or copy the .scs into DocumentsAmerican Truck Simulatormod and activate it in each profile's Mod Manager. If two mods change the same truck, the one higher up wins.
