Each mod page links only to the author's official download (Steam Workshop, the SCS forum, TruckyMods or their website) and tells you whether it's free or paid and which version it's compatible with. These ETS2 truck mods are reviewed with 1.61, the current version, in mind.
The best ETS2 truck mods to start with
- Renault Magnum Megamod: four Magnums (AE, Integral, E-tech and DXi), up to date for 1.61 and with no required DLC.
- Mack R Series: the late-'70s American classic, buyable in Europe, with 6V92 and Mack E6 engines and an animated interior.
- Volvo FH 2022 by Sanax: a standalone truck with a Globetrotter cab, 9 chassis and 16 interiors; the free version sits alongside a paid Premium one.
- Mercedes-Benz Actros MP3 by Dotec: the third-generation Actros with Kriechbaum sounds, free on Steam Workshop.
- Big Stars – Actros / Arocs SLT: heavy-haul 8x4 versions of the game's Mercedes trucks for heavy transport.
- Realistic Truck Physics Mod: it doesn't add a truck, but it changes how the chassis, cab and trailer move on all of them.
What to keep in mind
- Adds or replaces: a standalone truck shows up as a new model and doesn't touch the originals; other mods replace a truck from the game, like the next-generation Scania P, G, R and S pack. If you load two mods that touch the same truck, the one higher up in the Mod Manager wins.
- Where to buy it: if the truck is from a brand already in the game, you'll find it at that brand's dealer; if it's from a new brand, at the mod dealer.
- Version: not all of them keep pace with SCS. This section has mods listed for 1.57, 1.58 or 1.59; check the mod page before installing, because if the author declares compatible versions and yours isn't listed, the game won't let you activate it.
- DLC and other mods: some chassis need a specific DLC and other mods from the same author; the Swap Body Carrier Chassis Pack, for example, needs the Krone Trailer Pack.
- Installation: subscribe on Steam Workshop or copy the .scs to DocumentsEuro Truck Simulator 2mod and activate it in the Mod Manager of each profile.
- Online: in Convoy everyone needs the same mods as the session, and sound mods are only heard by you. TruckersMP doesn't accept just any mod.
