Here are 55 mods that add maps to BeamNG.drive: highways, huge rural maps, recreations of real roads, jump parks and proving grounds. On each mod page we tell you the map's size, whether it has AI traffic and what hardware it needs.
The best BeamNG map mods to start with
- Car Jump Arena: the most downloaded map on the Repository, with jumps, a 70-meter tower, a stadium and minigames.
- Skeleton Coast: an 8x8 km desert inspired by Namibia, with 70 km of highway, dunes, mines and an island.
- Autobahn 57k: about 57 km of German autobahn in a closed loop, with fast AI traffic and service areas.
- Pikes Peak – LIDAR Edition: a 20 km climb built from LIDAR data, in asphalt and dirt, with a time trial.
- Utah Extra: Utah expanded with touge, an oval, a drift area, off-road trails and an airfield, as a standalone level.
- Lake Farsoe: 4 x 4 km with a town, an airport and a ring highway, optimized for modest PCs.
What to keep in mind
- Size and hardware: big maps take up a lot of space and use a lot of memory. Texas, USA weighs about 475 MB, and River Highway, with over 200 km of roads, needs a PC with headroom. If your PC is on the edge, start with compact maps like Lake Farsoe.
- AI traffic: not all maps fully support it. If you want to drive among other cars, look for “AI traffic support” on the mod page; River Highway, for example, only has partial support.
- Version: after every major game update (like from 0.38 to 0.39), BeamNG cleans up the user folder and some maps take a while to be updated. Check on the mod page that the map is up to date.
- Installation: subscribe on the Repository or copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your user folder. The map shows up in the level selector.
- Official source: on the Repository, moderators review every mod before it's published. Be wary of maps that come as an .exe or of copies on reupload sites.
